1.1. ATIS
ATIS 124.705

1.2. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

1.2.1. PREFERENTIAL RWY SYSTEM
The following preferential RWY system has been established for noise abatement
requirements:
ARRIVALS
Between 0600-2200LT:
1. RWY 28 2. RWY 10
DEPARTURES
1. RWY 28 2. RWY 10
For arrivals and departures noise abatement should not be the determining factor
in RWY nomination in the following cases:
- If the RWY is not clear and dry, i.e. it is adversely affected by snow, slush,
ice, water, or mud, rubber, oil or other substances;
- For landing in conditions when the cloud base is lower than 800’ above aero-
drome elevation or when the horizontal visibility is less than 3000m;
- For take-off when the VIS is less than 1900m;
- When wind shear has been reported or forecasted or when thunderstorms are
expected to affect the approach or departure;
- When the crosswind component, including gusts, exceeds 15 KT or when the
tailwind component, including gusts, exceeds 5 KT.
Exceptions will be granted only in emergency cases or in order to shorten arrival
route.
1.2.2. CONTINUOUS DESCENT APPROACH (CDA)
CDA Technique
Arrange descent to pass 7000’ AMSL within 25 track miles to touchdown.
EXPECT track miles information or base leg information from ATC at or above
7000’ AMSL, but do not turn on base leg until instructed.
At or before downwind position maintain 220 KT or minimum clean speed, which-
ever is greater.
1.2.3. NIGHT FLYING RESTRICTIONS
- All ACFT movements are restricted between 2155-0600LT.
- Between 2155-0600LT take-offs from RWY 10 are permitted only for opera-
tions performed by ACFT for which noise level measured in the P2 noise
measurement point does not exceed 96 dB SEL.
Between 2155-0600LT landings on RWY 28 are permitted only for operations
performed by ACFT for which noise level measured in the P2 noise measure-
ment point does not exceed 86 dB SEL.
- It is recommended not to perform take-offs from RWY 10 between
2200-0600LT.
- Except for emergency situations, landing ACFT are recommended to reduce the
application of reverse thrust between 2200-0600LT.
- It is recommended to avoid planning scheduled, non-scheduled and ad-hoc ACFT
movements between 2200-0600LT.
- Between 2200-0600LT, take-off and landing operations by AN-12 and AN-26
ACFT are not allowed.

EPPO/POZ + JEPPESEN POZNAN, POLAND
LAWICA 2 SEP 22 10-1P1 .Eff.8.Sep. .AIRPORT.BRIEFING.
1 . G EN E RAL
In case of landing of ACFT for safety reasons (e.g. weather breakdown, lack of
fuel) at AD within coordination period, without time allotted for performing the
operation and in case the permissible number of operations specified in the envi-
ronmental decision for every night has been exceeded, clearance for take-off will
be issued only after 0600LT. The APT duty officer, on behalf of the AD manager,
will provide information to the TWR controller that no clearance for performing
take-off before 0600LT has been issued.
Lack of clearance for performing take-off before 0600LT also applies to any other
ACFT for which time for performing the operation has not been allotted during
flight schedule coordination period.
1.2.4. RUN-UP TESTS
No engine tests may be carried out between 2200-0600LT.
1.2.5. AUXILIARY POWER UNIT (APU)/GROUND POWER UNIT (GPU)
At night, the use of an APU shall be reduced to the necessary minimum.
The use of an engine powered GPU is forbidden all day and night on all ACFT
stands. Each parking stand on APN 1 is equipped with an electric power supply.

1.3. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)

1.3.1. GENERAL
LVP operations will be commenced when RVR at any measuring point declines
below RVR 550m or cloud base declines below 200’.
LVP procedures will be terminated in case of meteorological conditions improve-
ment at RVR increase at every measuring point over 550m and cloud base covering
more than half of the sky reaches above 200’ with a continuing upward trend in
visibility.
LVP procedures will be suspended in the following situations (POZNAN TWR com-
mences to ATIS message with the following content: "Low visibility procedures
CAT II suspended"):
- Failure of the RWY and / or TWY navigation lighting system, preventing the
continuation of operations in low visibility conditions (including: approach
lights, axis lights, edge lights, touchdown zone RWY, power system);
- Failure of the ILS (take-off only operations available - LVTO; (POZNAN TWR
commences to ATIS message with the following content: "Low visibility pro-
cedures in operation. ILS approach CAT II not available");
- Failure of AWOS devices for RVR and cloud base measurement;
- During the rescue operation at the APT;
- Occurrence of any situation threatening the safety of take-off/landing opera-
tions in low visibility conditions;
If removing the cause of LVP suspension becomes prolonged or impossible,
POZNAN TWR in agreement with APT Duty Officer decided to terminate LVP or to
terminate LVP preparation (depending on the situation) and commences to ATIS
message with the following content: "Low visibility procedures not available".
1.3.2. DESCRIPTION
During LVP, special ATC procedures will be applied. Flight crews will be informed
of the commencement of these procedures by ATIS or by radio.
The following phraseology will be used: "Low visibility procedures in operation".
During the preparation and operation phase of LVP a significantly reduced depar-
ture and landing rate should be expected, which results from the obligation to
increase the separation between ACFT.

RNAV ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. General
Expect direct routings/shortcuts by ATC whenever possible (especially during off-
peak hours). The turn to final approach is usually performed by radar vectors to
expedite traffic handling and for separation reasons.
2. Equipment
RNAV-1 approval required to conduct these procedures without additional restrictions.
However, it is possible to utilize RNAV-1 trajectories by RNAV-5 only approved aircraft.
The following restrictions apply: Aircraft equipped with RNAV-5 systems without navi-
gation database, and requiring manual data input are exempted from the utilization
of RNAV-1 procedures.
Non RNAV-1 aircraft: advise ATC upon first contact. Radar vectoring will be provided
usually along published procedures. Such aircraft may expect delays and/or extended
routing during peak hours.
3. Holdings
All holding patterns are available for non RNAV-1 approved aircraft.
4. Vertical planning
Pilots should plan for possible descent clearance in accordance with vertical
restrictions specified on chart. Actual descent clearance will be as directed by ATC.
If possible, CDA should be applied.

However, it is possible to utilize RNAV 1 trajectories by RNAV-5 only approved aircraft.
The following restrictions apply: Aircraft equipped with RNAV-5 systems without navi-
gation database, and requiring manual data input are exempted from the utilization
of RNAV-1 procedures.
Non RNAV-1 aircraft: advise ATC before start up. RADAR vectoring will be provided
usually along published procedures. Such aircraft may EXPECT delays and/or extended
routing during peak hours.

3. Vertical planning
If unable to achieve SID profile restrictions request non-standard departure from
ATC before start-up.

ATIS 129.630

1.2. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

1.2.1. GENERAL
Apply noise abatement procedures applicable for the given type of ACFT type to
reduce noise in the direct area of the AD.
1.2.2. PREFERENTIAL RWY SYSTEM
The following preferential RWY System has been established for noise abatement
requirements:
DEPARTURES
1. RWY 29
2. RWY 11
Noise abatement should not be the determining factor in RWY nomination in the
following cases:
- If the RWY is not clear and dry, i.e. it is adversely affected by snow, slush,
ice, water or mud, rubber, oil or other substances;
- For landing in conditions when the ceiling is lower than 150m above APT ele-
vation or when the horizontal visibility is less than 1900m;
- When wind shear has been reported or forecasted or when thunderstorms are
expected to affect the approach or departure;
- When the cross-wind component, including gusts, exceeds 15 KT;
- When the tail-wind component, including gusts, exceeds 5 KT.
Exceptions will be granted only in emergency or in order to shorten the arrival
route.
1.2.3. NOISE EMISSION REDUCTION
It is forbidden to use the maximum reverse thrust during landing except for
safety reasons, carry out a longer landing roll and reduce engine power during
take-off by using the full RWY length.
Self-powered ACFT shall taxi on the aprons with minimum engine power.
The operating time of on-board equipment (including air-conditioning), APUs or
the use of GPUs should be reduced to the minimum. The use of external GPUs is
preferred.
Engine start-up not related to a take-off operation is permitted in necessary and
fully justified cases only with minimum power use.
Any engine tests are allowed only with the approval of the APT Duty Officer,
provided they are carried out with great caution.
1.2.4. NIGHT FLYING RESTRICTIONS
Between 2100-0500 (2000-0400) UTC:
- Conducting of test, training/school and technical flights is prohibited;
- Flight crews are advised to reduce the use of reverse thrust after landing.
This restriction does not apply in emergency situations;
- Engine start-up not related to take-off operation (engine check with idle
power set) is permitted while conducting preflight check procedures.

14 APR 23 10-1P1 .Eff.20.Apr.
LECH WALESA .AIRPORT.BRIEFING.
1 . G EN E R A L
1.3. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)
1.3.1. GENERAL
LVP operations will be commenced when the RVR falls below 550m or the base of
cloud falls at 200’ or below.
LVP will be canceled when RVR increases to 600m or more and/or the base of
cloud reached 200’ or more and a continuing improvement is anticipated.
1.3.2. DESCRIPTION
During LVP, special ATC procedures will be applied. Pilots will be informed of the
commencement of these procedures by ATIS or by radio. The following phraseo-
logy will be used: 'Low visibility procedures in operation'.
If it is impossible to carry out CAT II or III operations, the following phraseology
will be used: ‘Low visibility procedure in operation. ILS approach CAT II
(or CAT III) not available’.
1.3.3. ARRIVALS
For arriving ACFT, the ATC will require the use of RWY 29 and exit from the RWY
only via TWYs: E, G, H.
ACFT crews are required to report a RWY vacated when the ACFT has left the
green-yellow colour coded section of the TWY centerline lights.
1.3.4. DEPARTURES
During LVP/LVTO, RWY 11 and RWY 29 will be used for take-off for departing
ACFT. The RWY may be accessed via:
- TWY A1 (RWY 29);
- TWY B (RWY 29);
- TWY C (RWY 29);
- TWY H ( RWY 11).
Take-offs are prohibited if the RVR is less than 125m.
1.3.5. OTHER
Taxiing on TWYs equipped with working centerline lights is conducted without the
assistance of Follow-me.
If the RVR falls below 550m, Follow-me assistance is required on TWYs not
equipped with centerline lights and on TWY M and TWY N at the intersection with
the service road.
Flight crews are obliged to report when the ACFT has reached the stand.
Pilots who wish to practice a CAT II or III approach for training purposes should
use the following phrasing on first contact with Approach: ‘Request training
approach CAT II/III’.

1.4. SURFACE MOVEMENT GUIDANCE AND CONTROL SYSTEM

1.4.1. OPERATION OF MODE S TRANSPONDERS
ACFT operators should ensure that ACFT transponders are able to operate when

RNAV ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. General
Expect direct routings/shortcuts by ATC whenever possible (especially during off-
peak hours). The turn to final approach is usually performed by radar vectors to
expedite traffic handling and for separation reasons.
2. Equipment
RNAV-1 approval required to conduct these procedures without additional restrictions.
However it is possible to utilize RNAV-1 trajectories by RNAV-5 only approved
aircraft.
The following restriction apply: Aircraft equipped with RNAV-5 systems without navi-
gation database, and requiring manual data input are exempted from the utilization of
RNAV-1 procedures.

RNAV DEPARTURE INSTRUCTIONS

1. General
Expect direct routings/shortcuts by ATC whenever possible (especially during off-
peak hours).
2. Equipment
RNAV-1 approval required to conduct these procedures without additional restrictions.
However it is possible to utilize RNAV 1 trajectories by RNAV-5 only approved
aircraft.
The following restriction apply: Aircraft equipped with RNAV-5 systems without navi-
gation database, and requiring manual data input are exempted from the utilization
of RNAV-1 procedures.
Non RNAV-1 aircraft: advise ATC before start up. Radar vectoring will be provided
usually along published procedures. Such aircraft may expect delays and/or extended
routing during peak hours.
3. Vertical planning
If unable to achieve SID profile restrictions request non-standard departure from
ATC before start-up.

VISUAL DOCKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM (SAFEDOCK)

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:
Parking stands 20, 20A, 21, 22, 23 and 24 are equipped with the automated docking
guidance system SAFEDOCK. SAFEDOCK tracks the crosswise and longitudinal ACFT
position relative to the ACFT stand taxilane.
Information regarding the ACFT position and risks
in the docking procedure is provided to flight crews
on a display located at the extended centre line of
an ACFT stand taxilane.

Alphanumeric

DISPLAY UNIT
ACFT TYPE - ACFT type (previously defined by the operator)
WAIT/VIEW/BLOCK - blocking objects within the scanning range - stand not usable
WAIT/GATE/BLOCK - blocking objects within the scanning range - stand not usable
SLOW DOWN - ACFT approach speed too fast for docking
ACFT TYPE and SLOW a) bad weather conditions - reduced visibility
b) loss of contact with the ACFT during docking
STOP - ACFT to be stopped immediately (emergency stop)
STOP/ID/FAIL - ACFT to be stopped due to failed ACFT identification
STOP/SBU - ACFT far off the centre line within 7'/2m to the stop position
STOP/TOO/FAST - ACFT to be stopped due to taxiing speed too fast
STOP/next OK - ACFT stopped in the correct position
TOO FAR - ACFT stopped too far past the stop position
(distance more than 3'/1m)
CHOCK ON - chocks placed (information to appear after 3 minutes)

AZIMUTH GUIDANCE
Laser scanning technology allows the system to be used from both pilot positions.

APPROACH DISTANCE FIELD

The indicator shows the remaining distance to the stop position.

ROUTINE TO BE FOLLOWED WHEN USING THE SYSTEM

- Check that the correct ACFT type is displayed on the display.
- Flashing arrows indicate that the system has been activated.
- The lead-in line is to be followed.
- The appearance of the yellow approach indicator field indicates that the ACFT has been
identified by the system.
- Observe the red and yellow azimuth guidance arrows. The yellow arrows on both sides
of the centre line indicate the correct azimuth position.
- At a distance of 49'/15m from the stop position, the remaining distance to go is
indicated by switching off succesive rows of LED indicators. The display shows also
the number of remaining metres to go.
- Reaching the correct stop position is indicated by displaying a STOP message and red
rectangulars on the outer edges of the centre line lead field.
- When the ACFT is docked in the correct position, the display will show an OK
message after a few seconds.
- 3 minutes after placing chocks under the nose gear, the display will show a CHOCK ON
message.

VISUAL DOCKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM (SAFEDOCK)

EMERGENCY STOP
When a red STOP message and red arrows appear on both sides of the azimuth guidance
line, the ACFT is to be stopped immediately.

SAFETY PROCEDURES DURING DOCKING

Signals given by the marshaller must be considered by the pilot superior to information
indicated by the SAFEDOCK system.
In the event of malfunction of the SAFEDOCK system or at the pilot's request,
the docking of the ACFT on a stand equipped with the system may be carried out
with marshalling assistance.
In the event of failure and/or shut-off of the SAFEDOCK system during a docking
operation, the operation will be completed with marshalling assistance.
If the ACFT has not been detected by the SAFEDOCK system (no yellow approach
distance field), the pilot must stop the ACFT at a safe distance from the air bridge.
