1. What software products are available for home, personal, and educational use?
Identify their functions.

 Home and personal


Personal Finance Software -is a simplified accounting program that helps
home users and small office/home office (SOHO) users balance their check
books, pay bills, track personal income and expenses, set up budgets,
manage home inventory, track investments, and evaluate financial plans.
Video and Audio Editing Software (for Personal Use) - With these programs,
home users can edit home movies, add music or other sounds to the video,
and share their movies on the Web.
Paint/Image Editing Software (for Personal Use) - provides an easy-to-use
interface; includes various simplified tools that allow you to draw pictures,
shapes, and other images; and provides the capability of modifying existing
graphics and photos.
Desktop Publishing Software (for Personal Use) - helps home and small
business users create newsletters, brochures, flyers, advertisements,
postcards, greeting cards, letterhead, business cards, banners, calendars,
logos, and Web pages.
 Education use
Educational Software -is software that teaches a particular skill.
Reference Software - provides valuable and thorough information for all
individuals. It includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, and health/medical
guides.

2. Identify the software for communication and explain how important it is.

 Communication software are file transfer protocol (FTP. Communications


software is it acts as a repository of data. It is important because it can record
or archive message exchanges and audio and video calls, meaning you can
capture important details such as customer queries, discussion points, and
meeting minutes.

2. How important is the utility software?

It is important because it helps you manage, maintain and control computer


resources. Operating systems typically contain the necessary tools for this,
but separate utility programs can provide improved functionality. Utility
software is often somewhat technical and targeted at users with a solid
knowledge of computers. If you use a computer mostly for e-mail, some
Internet browsing and typing up a report, you may not have much need for
these utilities. However, if you are an avid computer user, these utilities can
help make sure your computer stays in tip-top shape.Examples of utility
programs are antivirus software, backup software and disk tools.

3. Look for videos related to our topics and send the links.

functions.

3. Apple Magic Keyboard: This is a sleek, compact keyboard designed for Apple

1. Timeline of storage devices from 2019 to 2023. Include the price and size of the
memory.

ANSWER:

The technology market is incredibly diverse and dynamic, with numerous products
being released each year by various manufacturers. Prices can also vary greatly
depending on the region, retailer, and specific model of the device.
However, I can tell you that over these years, there has been a general trend
towards higher capacity storage devices at lower prices. For example, SSDs (Solid
State Drives) have become more affordable and are now commonly used in many
computers due to their speed and reliability. Similarly, the capacity of microSD cards
has increased, with 1TB cards now available.

In terms of cloud storage, services like Google Drive, Dropbox, and iCloud have
continued to offer more storage space at competitive prices.

2. You as a student, do you prepare to use cloud storage? Explain your answer.

Absolutely, I would prefer using cloud storage as a student. It's convenient, allows
for easy sharing and collaboration, and provides a safety net in case of device
failures. Plus, it saves space on my devices.

EXERCISES 5

1. Explain the 10 rules of netiquette in your own understanding.

ANSWER:

Netiquette is all about respect and understanding. It's important to value others'
time and bandwidth by being concise and relevant in our online communications. If
we have expertise in a certain area, we should share it to help others learn. We
should strive to keep online discussions respectful, even when disagreements arise.
Respecting others' privacy is crucial, and we should never share personal information
without consent. If we're in a position of power online, we should use it responsibly
and fairly. Everyone makes mistakes, especially when new to the internet, so we
should be patient and forgiving. We should respect differing opinions and
communicate clearly using proper language and grammar. Spamming is a no-no; we
should respect others' inboxes. Lastly, authenticity is key. We should be ourselves
online, not pretending to be someone else. These rules help make the internet a
more respectful and enjoyable place for everyone.

2. What is your overall insight about using the internet.

The internet is such a fascinating place, It's like a vast ocean of information and
opportunities. It has made our lives so much easier in many ways. We can connect
with people from all over the world, learn new things, explore different cultures, and
even work from the comfort of our homes.

However, like everything else, it has its downsides too. It's important to be mindful
of our digital footprint and the information we share online. Also, it's easy to get lost
in the virtual world and forget about the real one. So, balance is key.
