ZOOM
Overview
• Zoom Command allows you to zoom out and zoom in your model in the model-
space and paper-space.

• It is also used to magnify the portion of the drawing and allows work in the smaller
area of the drawing.
Among all this methods best practice is done by
ZOOM mouse wheel rolling.

HOW TO USE!
Mouse wheel forward rolling to zoom in
& backward rolling to zoom out.

PAN
Overview
PAN HAND TOOL

• Pan command allow user to drag the drawing in working area.

• You can drag by simply continuously pressing the scroll button.

LIMIT
Overview
• Limits allows user to define the working area at the beginning of the drawing.
• Helps to draw largest dimension of the drawing within the working area after setting the
limit.
• Limits can be used to control size of your drawing area.
• Limits is turned ON and OFF if it is turned off by default that means there is no restrictions
for picking and drawing objects.
• When limit is turned ON AutoCAD will not allow to draw or pick points outside the limits of
drawing and it reports in command line: **Outside limits.
LIMIT
Overview
• Limit Mode is most useful when you are working within the drawing size as
shown in image above.
• Limit mode is useful when you want to prevent objects to be drawn outside of area.
• For Example(A2 Sheet Size):
• specify lower left corner or [ON/OFF] <0.000,0.000>:
(pick point, enter co-ordinates or to accept the default value)
• specify upper right corner <595.000,420.000>:
(pick point, enter co-ordinates or to accept the default value)

REGEN (RE)
Overview
• Recomputes the locations and visibility for all objects in the current viewport
• Reindexes the drawing database for optimum display and object selection performance
• Resets the overall area available for real-time panning and zooming in the current viewport

VIEWRES
Overview

• VIEWRES controls the appearance of

circles, arcs, splines, and arced polylines
using short vectors. The greater the
number of vectors, the smoother the
appearance of the circle or arc.
• Values can very from 1 to 20,000.

GRID
Overview
• Grid allows user to draw object snap to grid for better control of dimensions.

• In drawing, grid is the regular pattern of square blocks for better visualization.

• As it shows a sheet of graph paper behind your drawing on a drawing board.

• As well as you can control its spacing by giving values, so it can give a better idea about the
size of your drawing objects.

• For more details of their additional options, see in following slide.

SNAP
Overview
• Snap command is used to set snap spacing and to toggle snap mode.
• With snap mode turned ON allows you to pick points which lie on grid.
• Snap grid is completely different from the display grid but mostly gives same value to both
to avoid confusion.
• The display grid will automatically change each time the snap grid is changed when you
give zero value to display grid.
• When snap mode is turned on within the grid is displayed the crosshairs will jump from
one grid to another as you move cursor across the drawing area on the screen.
