Activity 1
Game: Last Man Standing
Choose the letter of your answer by lining up on the letter
that corresponds to your answer. For every question, those who line up
on the wrong answers will be eliminated. The last man standing will be
the winner.
Activity 2
“Four Pic, One Word”
Directions: Different pictures will be posted. Pick out the similarities of
each picture by guessing the word.
What are the words formed?
B. Development Video/Picture Analysis
Guide Questios:
1. What can you say about the video? The bank of China Tower?
2. What do you think is the reason why there are triangles in the
structure?
3. Are the measure of the triangles equal?
Activity 3
“Find your Partner”
Directions: The students will be divided into four groups; each group will
be given one box of pizza. Inside the box are different pairs of triangles,
one figure for each member. As the music play, the students will find their
partners who are holding the same shape as they have.
Guide Questions:
Why/How did you choose your partner?
Describe the two pictures you have.
What can you say about the size and shape of the two figures?
LESSON EXEMPLAR
Step 1: Together with your partner, paste the pair of triangles on a oslo
paper wherein one of the vertices is on top.
Step 2: Name the first triangle ABC, starting from the top, left and right,
then the second triangle DEF same way that the first triangle was named.
Step 3: In between line AB and DE put one tick mark. In between line BC
and EF draw two tick marks and three marks on line AC and DF.
Step 4: Mark angle A and D once, Angle B and E twice and angle C and
F thrice.
Guide Questions:
1. What can u say about the vertices of the two triangles?
2. Are the corresponding sides equal? Name pairs of congruent sides.
3. Are the corresponding angles equal? Give pairs of congruent angles.
Now, two triangles are _________ if and only if their ________ can be
paired so that corresponding _____________and _________ are
congruent.
∆ABC ∆DEF Read as “triangle ABC is congruent to triangle DEF.”
symbol for congruency
∆ symbol for triangle
C. Engagement Examples:
I.
O R N E
II. R S T
Q V U
Who would like to give the corresponding sides and the corresponding
angles of the given triangles?
Congruent Angles Congruent Sides
R U RQ UT
S V RS UV
Q T SQ VT
Guide Question:
ABSTRACTION
When do we say that two triangles are congruent?
KEYPOINTS
Two triangles are congruent if and only if their vertices can be paired so that
corresponding sides are congruent and the corresponding angles are congruent.
Assimilation Direction: Verify a set of conditions that guarantees triangle congruence by definition of
triangle congruence. Write the letter of the correct choice in each box at the bottom of
the page that contains the exercise number.
RIDDLE: What do you call a fruit that doesn’t come from a tree or plant?
