Code Credits 6 Duration 24 weeks Pre-requisites No GPA/NGPA NGPA Aim To provide students with an opportunity to get themselves exposed to the real-life work environments as technologists. Module LO1: Demonstrate an ability to apply concepts learned in the class in an industrial Learning environment Outcomes LO2: Develop soft skills in time management, communication, team playing and professional network building. LO3 Demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze, and solve real industrial issues problems encountered in the workplace LO4 Demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate technical information, ideas, and findings to colleagues, supervisors, and stakeholders LO5: Develop own career plan by own SWOT LO6: Demonstrate an Understanding of the norms in different organizational environments. and behave accordingly Module The module is a compulsory component for all degree programmes in the Faculty of outline Technology. It is scheduled to be conducted during the 6th semester outside of the faculty premises. The overall duration of industrial training shall be 24 weeks. is arranged in liaison with the industry and the National Apprentice and Industrial Development Authority (NAITA). It is essential that the undergraduate is fully engaged throughout the training period and hands- on experience is expected not only in the technical aspects of the work. but also related matters such as administration, accounting/finance, management, safety, learning work ethics, practice professional conduct, experience the organisation cultures & processes, and practice to solve the industrial problems. After 12 weeks of training, the training engineer and panel of senior academics conduct a field inspection. Module 1. Building construction content 2. Industrial & Coastal structure development 3.
