PART B - MICRO PROJECT REPORT

1.0) Rationale:-

 This project provides a knowledge of Hotel Management System using


advanced java.
 The project, hotel management system is a application that allows the hotel
manager to handle all hotel activities online. Interactive gui and the ability to
manage various hotel bookings and rooms make this system very flexible and
convenient.

 The hotel manager is a very busy person and does not have the time to sit and
manage the entire activities manually on paper. This application gives him the
power and flexibility to manage the entire system from a single online system.

2.0) Aims Of The Microproject:-

 To Develop an application for Hotel management system in advanced java.

3.0) Course Outcome Integrated:-

 Develop Programs Using GUI Framework.

 Handle Events Of Awt And Swing Components.

 Develop Programs To Handle Events In Java Programming.

 Develop Programs Using Database.


4.0) Literature Review:-

 Paper 1: A Study on The Effectiveness of Teaching Methods Followed in Hotel


Management Colleges.

The Indian education sector has seen a drastic change in the 21st century especially
with the use of ICT enabled technology. The hotel management institutes have also
evolved using these new methods of teaching. These hotel management institutes have
teachers who still believe that the conventional teaching methods are the best and are
hesitant to move towards conceptual teaching methods. This study aims to find out
about the preference of conventional and conceptual teaching methods by hotel
management students.

 Paper 2: Positive impact of covid-19 on the employees of 5 star hotels from pune
city.

On an encouraging note, the Pandemic has also brought about a wave of innovation in
the fields of contactless boarding/service and travel technologies. Employees of various
hotels were handled with a lot of sensitivity and were given the training to handle the
crises. The study was carried out to understand the various initiatives undertaken during
lockdown for all the employees.

6.0) Proposed Methodology:-

At first we have created a signup page through which we can register ourselves with our
username password ,mob_no ,name and email then we can login to our respective account
through entering our user name and password then after we are forwarded to the home page of
our login section it contains managing room , customer check-in customer check-out, customer
details bill .we also have created the logout and exit section in home page.
In managing room module admin can manage room type, room no, price and bed type.
He can also add or delete room. In customer check-in he can fill the customer details and allot
the respective room to the customer as per their requirement. In customer check-out module
the admin can provide the customer with their bill. In customer details bill he can produce a
date wise bill of all the customer who have turned in the hotel .
Hence the admin is able to utilize this application for his day to day usage and can
reduce the working time
In Previous applications there were no such thing as bill generation and signup for admin the
current date supposed to be fill by the admin itself.The old system was not reliable or task
ifficient .hence we have created swing based API that keeps the track of date ,generates bill
automatically ,administrator gives the advantage to signup .So the development of the previous
application will be improved and gain some new functionality as mentioned above.

 This project can be used for the application purpose in the hotels.

 We can conclude that using the hotel management system.


 We can manage the hotel using the functionalities of this project the check in ,check
out and the bill generation processes could be done easily and hence this project helps
the hotel management.
