Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for the Renovation of Residential

Houses
in zone A-23 - Mosul, Ninevah Governorate, Iraq
Notes:
1 This is the summary/total BoQ of Seventeen houses (H14-01, H14-02 , H14-03 , H14-04 , H14-05 , H14-06 , H14-07 ,H14
H14-10 , H14-11 , H14-12 , H14-13 , H14-14 , H14-15 , H14-16 , H14-17), the detailed BoQ for each house is attached an
will be implemented accordingly.
2 Work items to be implemented as per the conditions and specifications of the tender and in
accordance with the UN-Habitat supervision engineer's instructions.
3 Prices should include all necessary materials, equipment's, to complete the items.
4 The Contractor has the responsibility to do all necessary tests. Random checks will be conducted by
UN-Habitat Engineer during the construction.
5 The contractor must provide all samples. The samples must be approved by the UN-Habitat
Engineer.
6 The contractor must provide detailed time schedule, detailing all activities in logical sequence to
complete the works within the project duration.
7 All quoted prices include removing the existing damaged items (fire or war damaged), which also
include washing (and if needed scrapping) ceiling and walls from ash and to be sure to deliver the
clean unit to the beneficiaries.

1-4 Reinforced Concrete: M3 9


Provision of materials, labors and equipment and all requirements for casting reinforced concrete (1:2:4), for
foundations, roof, beams, columns, slab, stair and parapets, including form works and steel reinforcement, with all
requirements. Slopes should be directed towards the outside.Works should be done with best quality and standards, all
works should be done according to the instructions of UN-Habitat supervision engineer.
1-7 Concrete Blocks Building: M2 124
Building walls and Curtains for rooftop (using holow concrete blocks):
Provision of materials and labor to build external and internal walls above or below (DPC), fence and parapet by
using holow concrete blocks (20x20x40)cm with ordinary cement mortar (1:3), including fixing the windows and
doors. The price includes installing angle steel sections size (2.5"x2.5"x4mm) extended 25cm in each sides from
opening (painted with anti-rust as metnioned in the above instructions) above windows and doors as lintels, with good
work requirements and in accordance to the instructions of the UN-Habitat supervision engineer.

1-8 Cement plastering: M2 588


Provision of materials, labor and equipment and all other activities that are required for plastering the exterior and
interior walls, ceilings and curtains/or partitions for rooftop using cement & sand plastering with a ratio of (1:3). The
finishing of plaster should result in making straight and smooth facing, with clear edges and corners. The plastering
shall be done through straight edges (and reference strips at no more than one meter distance) and best industry
practices. The works unit price also includes the removal of lose plaster and reparing of the damaged wall and all that
is required to make the job complete in every aspect and detailed as per the instructions of UN-Habitat supervision
engineer.

1-11 Windows Glass: M2 142


Provision of materials, labor and supply materials to install and fix 4mm clear glass for the existing windows
wherever needed, the glass shall not have any scrtach nor waves and all works shoule be done according to
instructions of UN-Habitat Supervision Engineer.
1-13 Install PVC Door: No. 65
Provision of materials, labors and equipment and all other necessary activities that are required for the installation of
2.1x1 m PVC hinged doors with frame. The price also includes supplying and fixing of all required locks, 4mm single
layer clear glass and hinges, etc. and, also the repair of any damages that may occur to the wall or finishing due to the
replacement and or refixing process. All works should be done according to instructions of UN-Habitat supervision
engineer.
1-14 Install Steel Door: No. 8
Provision of materials, labors and equipment and all other necessary activities that are required for the installation of
2.1x1 m steel hinged doors with frame. The price includes supplying and fixing of all required locks, hinges, etc. and,
also the repairs of any damages that may occur to the wall or finishing due to the replacement and or refixing process.
Price also includes scrapping the existing damaged paint and removing of oxides from steel and re-painting with two
coats of red oxide followed by two coats of oil paint. All works should be done according to instructions of UN-
Habitat supervision engineer.

1-15 Repairing of Existing Steel Door: No. 1


Provision of materials, labors and equipment and all other necessary activities that are required for the repairing of
existing damaged steel doors, supplying new handles, hinges, locks, etc. Price also includes scrapping the existing
damaged paint and removing of oxides from steel and re-painting with two coats of red oxide followed by two coats
of oil paint. Price shall also includes repairing, straightening, and modifying the edges of the wall that either damaged
in the war or get damage during the repair works. All works should be done according to instructions of UN-Habitat
supervision engineer.

1-16 Install Wooden Doors: No. 12


Provision of materials, labor and equipment and all other necessary activities that are required for the installation of
2.1x1 m wooden hinged doors with frame. The price includes supplying and fixing of all required locks, hinges, etc.
and, also repairs of any damages that may occur to the wall or finishing due to the replacement process or refixing, it
also includes two coats of suitable oil paint. All works should be done according to instructions of UN-Habitat
supervision engineer.

1-17 Repairing the Existing Wooden Door: No. 3


Provision of materials, labor and equipment and all other necessary activities that are required for repairing the
existing damaged wooden doors, supplying new handles, hinges, locks, etc. Price also includes painting with suitable
oil paint. Price shall also includes repairing, straightening, and modifying the edges of the wall. All works should be
done according to instructions of UN-Habitat supervision engineer.
1-18 Install external Steel Door: M2 47
Provision of materials, labor, equipment and all other necessary activities that are required for removing the existing
damaged exterior steel doors and supplyling and fixing/installing new steel doors with frame, handles, hinges, locks,
etc. Price also includes scrapping the old damaged paint and any oxides on the steel and new painting with two coats
of red oxide followed by two coats of oil paint. Price also includes repairing, straightening, and modifying the edges
of the wall. all work done according to instructions of the supervisor engineer.

1-19 Repairing the Existing external Steel Door: M2 6


Provision of materials, labor, equipment and all other necessary activities that are required for repairing the existing
damaged exterior steel doors, and supplying new handles, hinges, locks. Price also include scrapping and removal of
old damaged paint and oxides from steel and then repainting with two coats of red oxide followed by two coats of oil
paint. Price shall also include repairing, straightening, and modifying the edges of the wall. All works should be done
according to instructions of UN-Habitat supervision engineer.
1-22 Steel Parapet Works: M.L. 26
Supply materials, equipment, and all other necessary requirements to construct a steel parapet with 80 cm height,
using 2*2" square pipe with all required accessories. Price includespainting with two coats of red oxide followed by
two coats of oil paint, and all works to be done as per the instructions of UN-Habitat supervisor engineer.

1-24 Metal Shed: M2 32


Provision of materials, labors, equipment and all other necessary requirements for installing metal shed. The works
include installing a steel frame made of (2"x4"x 3mm steel pipes for the outer boundary, and 1.5"x1.5"x 3mm @ 1m
in short way, supplying curby galvanized sheets fixing with washer screw. All steel parts must be painted with one
layer of anti-rust paint and at least two layers of oil paint. All work must be completed according to the instructions of
UN-Habitat supervisor engineer.
1-25 Repairing Roof: M2 20
Provision of materials,labors, equipment and all other necessary requirements for repairing the roof with minor
damages by covering it with water proof epoxy (flint coat or equavalent). The works include filling the cracks with
suitable material and finishing the surfaces with suitable moisture treatments. All materials must be approved by as
well the works must be done according to the instructions of the UN-Habitat supervisor engineer.

2 Sanitary and Plumbing Works - General Notes


Provision of materials, works and equipment to implement the items described below. The responsibility of the contractor also includes all that
every part and as detailed as per the instruction of the UN-Habitat supervision engineer.The price also includes removal and repairing of any d
finishing due to the replacement process or finishing and refixing. The samples of all materials must be approved by the UN-Habitat Engineer
site. All works should be done according to instructions of the UN-Habitat supervision engineer.

2-1 Replace toilet: No. 2


Remove the damaged oriental toilet. Supply materials and install new best brand 18" size with gully trap. The price
includes supply and fixing of a 1/2" tap.
2-2 Hand Wash basin: No. 11
Supply materials and install a new vitreous hand wash basin with pedestal, approximately (60X45)cm in size and
good quality, with chromium mixing tap, control valves connected with rubber hose then to be connected to water
supply system, as well connected to the nearest gully trap with good quality rubber hose properly connected to 2inch.
dia. galvanized steel drain. The price includes all required pipes & fittings to be connected with water source and
drainage network and must be done according to the instructions of UN-Habitat supervisor engineer.
2-3 Install new Electric water heater: No. 9
Supply materials and install a new electric water heater of 200 liters capacity with two heaters 3000W, with
connections to inlet and outlet pipes. The price includes all required pipes & fittings, plumbing and connections with
water source and drainage network - all works must be done according to the instructions of UN-Habitat supervisor
engineer.
2-4 Steel Sink: No. 13
Supply materials and install a new good quality stainless steel sink (single basin, one wing or two wing) properly
fixed on galvanized steel pipe stand. The price includes the supplying of chromium mixing tap to be connected to
water supply system .The sink should be connected to nearest gully trap with good quality rubber hose properly
connected to 2 inch.dia. galvanized steel drain The price also includes all required pipes & fittings to be connected
with water source and drainage network and must be done according to the instructions of UN-Habitat supervisor
engineer.

2-5 Install Water Tank: No. 15


Supply materials and Install a water storage tank, capacity of (1) cubic meter at a level and place that will be decided
by the supervisor engineer with proper base using concrete blocks. The tank shall be made of galvanized sheet gauge
18 (new) complete with floated valve, drain, all connecting parts between the tanks, control gate valve, washing tap of
1" dia. The price includes (high pressure PPR pipe 3/4'' in diameter, Float Valve 3/4, elbow, Socket, etc.) to connect
the water source to the water tank, also to the water point( new constructed toilets) and all other required works to
finish the connection. All works must be done in accordance with and up to the level of satisfaction of UN-Habitat
Supervision Engineer.

2-6 Install Bath Wash Mixer: No. 22


Supply materials, install and fix a hanged type bath washing mixer (Dosh localy name) with all the necessary
incoming and outgoing pipes, fittings, and water connections from water tanks.
2-7 Install a Chromium tap: No. 8
Supply materials, install and fix chromic 1/2 tap with all the necessary activities according to UN-Habitat engineer's
instructions.
2-8 Outlet Piping: M.L 42
Supply materials and install PVC pipe of 4 inch. dia. of high pressure resistance, where required (with all its
requirements such as elbow, T or y connections, etc. to complete the work and all civil works requirements (covering
the pipe with 10cm sand, excavation, casting concrete 1:3:6 and backfilling). All of the works must be completed
according to the specifications and the instructions of UN-Habitat supervisor engineer.

3 Electrical works
Note: MCCB, MDBs, DBs wiring must be re-arranged in suitable & safe way whenever need. The works inlcude provision of materials, w
requirements and necessities to implement the items described below. All types of wiring, trenching, etc. and all that is required to make the jo
the instruction of UN-Habitat supervisor engineer is included in the unit rates. The sample of all items must be approved by the UN-Habitat en
delivery at site.
The price includes removing the old and repairing of any damages that may occur to the wall or finishing due to the replacement process or fin
according to instructions of the supervisor engineer.

3-1 Lighting and connections: No. 67


Supply materials, Install and operate (comission) a surface type, wall or ceiling mounted single fluorescent fixture
with fluorescent tube of (4) feet, chock and starter of a good quality with all wiring system fixed on the face of wall,
as per the approval of UN-Habitat supervisor engineer. The price includes supply, install, and test switch (1 gang or 2
gang, one way switch).(wiring 2*1.5 mm2, copper) and any other relevant required necessities to complete the job in
every aspect.
3-2 Switch Socket and connections (13A): No. 59
Supply materials, install and fix switch socket (13A) of good quality, approved by the UN-Habitat supervisor
engineer. The work includes all requirements with surface type wiring (2x2.5mm2 Copper) from the main board to
the point.
3-3 Switch: No. 15
Supply materials, install and test switch (one line, two lines, three lines) as per the instructions of UN-Habitat
supervisor engineer.
3-4 Supply Main Electrical Board: No. 6
Supply materials, install and arrange MDB with cable , the work includes installation of new board, new change
over, circuits, and fixing of the existing electricguage, and in addition to these the arranging of all wiring in the new
board with all accessories according to instructions of UN-Habitat supervisor engineer.

3-5 Main Circuit Breaker D.B: No. 2


Supply materials, install and operate (and test) main circuit breaker of 63 Amp. with (6 or 12) circuits of good quality,
with all needed wiring to be connected to the rooms and connected with main power by (2x10) mm2 cables in
accordance with the instructions of the UN-Habitat supervisor engineer.
