B. Developmental Activities

Activity
The teacher will divide the students into two (2) groups and have them participate in the
following activity:

Group 1: HAPPY OR SAD

Direction: Paste the happy face picture in the box if the statement is TRUE and sad
face picture if the statement is FALSE.

1. Snapping creates sound.

2. Clapping doesn’t produce sound.

3. Clock produces sound.

Analysis

“Based on the picture and the activity that we had, what

do you think is our topic today?”

The Teacher will present the topic and objectives.

(The teacher will introduce Ana, the character in the

PowerPoint presentation (with sounds) to Learners: “We use ears to listen”
help them understand the lesson.)

“What do we use to hear the sounds?”

“That is precisely correct! Our ears are the

primary sensory organs we use to perceive sound.
Sound waves travel through the air or other
mediums and are collected by our outer ears.

The vibration of an object disturbs the air in such a

way that sounds are produced. Sounds travel in all
directions from its source.”

(Use audio clips within the PowerPoint Learners: “Snapping

presentation and encourage learners to speculate Guitar
about the source of the Waves
sounds.) Bird chirping
Motorcycle”

“Very good! S Snapping, guitar, waves, bird

chirping, and car sounds can be a source of
sounds, and another source of sounds comes from
musical instruments, things, and animals in our
surroundings.
Learners: “When my phone rings, It
1. Human Activities: Snapping fingers, clapping means
hands, stomping feet, or even vocalizing are someone is calling.”
all ways humans create sound intentionally.

2. Musical Instruments: From traditional ones

like guitars, pianos, and drums to more
unconventional instruments, each produces
unique sounds.

3. Environmental / Natural Elements: Wind

rustling through leaves, waves crashing on the
shore, or thunder rumbling are all natural
sources of sound. Also, rainfall, flowing
rivers, or crackling fire create ambient sounds
that can be both soothing and atmospheric.

4. Animals: Birds chirping, dogs barking, or cats

purring contribute to the symphony of sounds
in nature.

5. Mechanical Devices: Engines revving,

machines operating, or doors creaking are
examples of sounds produced by mechanical
objects.

“Is sound important to humans? Why?”

“Yes! Sounds make life more fun! We

communicate, listen to music, laugh at jokes, and
enjoy the sounds of nature like birds singing or
waves crashing at the beach. Imagine watching
your favorite cartoon without any sound effects –
it wouldn't be as exciting!

“Can someone give me one example of

uses of sounds?”

“Excellent! Absolutely! Sounds on your phone,

like ringing or buzzing, act as signals to let you
know that someone is trying to reach you. When
you hear your Learners: “Yes sir!”
phone ring, it's like a signal telling you,
"Hey, someone wants to talk to you!"
Another uses of sounds are:
Communication: Sounds are essential
for communication not only between
people but also between animals. From
spoken language to non-verbal cues like
laughter, sighs, or even a stern tone,
sounds convey a wide range of
messages and emotions.

Entertainment: Sounds are at the heart

of entertainment. Music, movies,
television shows, and video games all
heavily rely on sound to create
atmosphere, evoke emotions, and
enhance the overall experience. From
catchy tunes to thrilling sound effects,
sounds make entertainment more
engaging and enjoyable.

Warning/Signal: Sounds serve as

warnings to alert us to potential dangers
or hazards. Alarm bells, sirens, horns,
and warning signals on machinery are
all examples of sounds used to grab our
attention and prompt us to take action to
stay safe.

Noice refers to any unwanted,

unpleasant, or disruptive sound that can
interfere with communication, sleep,
work, or general well-being.

Abstraction
“Sounds come from different sources.

A. Sounds come from different

sources.

B. Different objects produce

different sounds.

C. People can produce different

sounds” Learner: “1.Human

4. Animals
5. Mechanical Devices

Learners: Drums, guitar, xylophone

Learners: Snapping, stomping, whistling

Application

The teacher will divide the class into three (3)

groups. Group 1, named "Message Relay," will
use sound to convey a message ("Paa, tuhod,
balikat, ulo"). Group 2 will then interpret this
message through entertainment by singing "Paa,
tuhod, balikat, ulo", and Group 3 will respond to
the entertainment by clapping, as a sign or
indicating their enjoyment.
