You have been onboarded in the HR department as the management consultant at KPMG Qatar. KPMG is a ‘Big
Four’ accounting firm that offers accounting, audit and business advising services to companies worldwide. Although
well known for its accounting and finance positions, there are other fields such as consulting, research and science,
and other opportunities with the firm.
You were assigned by your HR manager to write an essay for your fellow HR officers to raise their awareness of the
significant impact of leadership and management in achieving organizational goals and the challenges facing leaders
and managers in driving the company towards its strategic goals amidst the current challenges and contexts.
Specifically, this assigned task aims to examine the leadership and management theories and principles, and their
impact on the effectiveness of an organization in addition to creating an in-depth understanding of the influence of
different leadership and management styles on the organizational culture.
You were asked to include in the essay report a case study about a large organization in
Qatar of your choice.
Focusing on your chosen organization, critically evaluate the leadership and management
styles/theories and their impact on decision making and the factors that influence their
organizational culture.

style. You are required to make use of headings, paragraphs, and sub-sections as
appropriate. All work must be supported with research and referenced using the Harvard
referencing system (or an alternative system) whenever required. You will need to provide a
bibliography using the Harvard referencing system (or an alternative system). Inaccurate use
of referencing may lead to issues of plagiarism if not applied correctly. The recommended
word limit is 750- 1,000 words, although you will not be penalized for going under or
exceeding the total word limit.

Following on from your case study on leadership and management in action, you have now
been asked to present to the client (the same organization you had chosen) a devised
motivational strategy and application of leadership & management approaches for continuous
improvement. Your manager is expecting you to develop a motivational strategy to optimize
organizational performance for that client. Particularly, the client is aiming to optimize its
performance through application of a motivational strategy, leadership and management
approaches to ensure continuous improvement.
Assignment activity and guidance
You are asked to present the performance management techniques for continuous
improvement for your client organization. This will be followed with the creation of an
individually created motivational strategy. A motivation strategy is a plan that considers a
range of financial and non-financial incentives, for both successful performance and to
support unsuccessful performance.
