PART I: INFORMATION SHEET

Introduction
I am Emalyn T. Cortez, currently working at the Abra State Institute of
Sciences and Technology Bangued Campus and presently enrolled at Don Mariano
Marcos Memorial State University, Mid La Union Campus. I am doing research entitled
“Lived Experiences of Technical – Vocational and Livelihood Teachers: A Post-
Pandemic Assessment”. I am going to give you information and invite you to be part of
this research. You do not have to decide today whether or not you will participate in
the research. Before you decide, you can talk to anyone you feel comfortable with
about the research.
This consent form may contain words that you do not understand. Please ask
me to stop as we go through the information and I will take time to explain.

Purpose of the research


This study aims to assess your lived experiences as a TVL track teacher in the
post-pandemic in terms of your demographic information, teaching context, transition
to remote teaching, workload and time management, student engagement, emotional
and psychological well-being, professional development and support, student
performance and assessment, health and safety concerns, resilience and adaptation,
connection to parents and ethical and moral values. Your responses provide
information that might help in professional development, curriculum development,
student engagement, and school culture.

This research will involve your participation in a one-on-one interview that will
take about thirty minutes to one hour.

Participant Selection
You are invited to participate in this research because I feel that your
experiences as a TVL teacher in the post-pandemic times can contribute much to the
success of this study.

Voluntary Participation
Your participation in this research is entirely voluntary. It is your choice
whether to participate or not. The choice that you make will have no bearing on your
job or any work-related evaluations or reports. You may change your mind later and
stop participating even if you agreed earlier.

Procedures
I am inviting you to take part in this research project. If you accept, you will
be asked to take part in a one-on-one interview, this will be guided/facilitated by
me.
The interview will start with me, making sure that you are comfortable. Then I
will ask you questions about your lived experiences as a TVL teacher during the post-
pandemic times and give you time to share your knowledge. The questions will be
about your demographic information, teaching context, transition to remote teaching,
workload and time management, student engagement, emotional and psychological
well-being, professional development and support, student performance and
assessment, health and safety concerns, resilience and adaptation, connection to
parents and ethical and moral values. Your responses provide information that might
help in professional development, curriculum development, student engagement, and
school culture.
I will also ask questions about your challenges encountered, strategies have you
utilized to overcome those, and resources or support systems that are available for
these various concerns.
I will not ask you to share personal beliefs, practices, or stories and you do not
have to share any knowledge that you are not comfortable sharing.
The interview will be recorded. No one else is present in the interview except
you and me. The entire interview, no one will be identified by name on the recording.
The audio recordings will be kept and stored. The information recorded is
confidential, and only I will have access to the audio-recorded. The audio recordings
will be deleted after the study is done.

Duration
The research takes place over 12 months in total. The individual interview will
occur once and is expected to last between thirty minutes to one hour. However, if
there are unclear pieces of information, follow-up questions or another interview will
be conducted prior to the coding and thematization process

If the interview is on sensitive and personal issues and you may feel
uncomfortable talking about some of the topics, you do not have to answer any
questions. If you don't wish to do so, and that is also fine. You do not have to give us
any reason for not responding to any questions, or for refusing to take part in the
interview.

Benefits
There will be no direct benefit to you, but your participation is likely to help
me find out more about your lived experiences as a TVL teacher in the post-pandemic
times.

Reimbursements
You will not be provided any incentive to take part in the research.

Confidentiality
I will request that you refrain from discussing what was said during our
interview with individuals outside the group. Essentially, I will ask you to maintain the
confidentiality of our interview.

Sharing the Results


Nothing that you share with us today will be disclosed to anyone outside the
research team, and nothing will be attributed to you by name. The knowledge gained
from this research will be shared with you, each participant will receive a summary of
the results, and if successful, we will publish the findings so that other interested
individuals may learn from the research.

Right to Refuse or Withdraw


You do not have to take part in this research if you do not wish to do so, and
choosing to participate will not affect your job or job-related evaluations in any way.
You may stop participating in the interview at any time that you wish without your
job being affected. I will allow you at the end of the interview to review your
remarks, and you can ask to modify or remove portions of those, if you do not agree
with my notes or if I did not understand you correctly.

Ethics Committee, which is a committee whose task is to make sure that research
participants are protected from harm. If you wish to find out more about the
