NID : AN INTRODUCTION
NID stands for the National Institute of Design. It is a premier design institution in India that offers undergraduate
and postgraduate programs in various design disciplines. NID has a reputation for excellence in design educa-

NID Ahmedabad, • The National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad, along with its extension

Bengaluru National Importance’ as outlined in the NID Act of 2014. Operating autono-
mously under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade

institute offers a four-year full-time Bachelor of Design (BDes), a two-and-a-
half-year full-time Master of Design (MDes), and a PhD in Design.NID is also a
recognized member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

NID Andhra Pradesh • NID Andhra Pradesh, established in September 2015, is the second autono-
and Haryana mous multi-disciplinary design institute under DPIIT, adhering to the National
Design Policy of the Government of India.
• NID Haryana, established in November 2016, aims to be a pioneer in innovative
design across industry, commerce, and development sectors.

NID Madhya • NID Madhya Pradesh attained the status of an Institute of National Importance
Pradesh through the National Institute of Design (Amendment) Act, 2019, on November
29, 2019.

NID Assam • NID Assam, also an autonomous Institution of National Importance, focuses
on design education, research, and practice. It provides a full-time four-year

NID DAT BDes EXAM PATTERN:


PRELIMS AND MAINS

The exam pattern for the NID DAT 2024, covers both DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. DAT Prelims will be a pa-
per-and-pencil/pen test, featuring text and visuals with a duration specified on the admit card. The exams eval-
uate candidates’ knowledge, skills, and behavioral abilities. On the other hand, The DAT Mains involves a Studio
Test. In the In the studio test, students might have to do things like drawing, making models, talking in groups
and giving presentations. Only those who do well in this test get a chance to have a personal interview.However,
shortlisting for DAT Mains is based on performance in DAT Prelims.
