As a mother of two children, I can attest to the
fact that kids have different interests, and having a
skate park in one of our existing parks would allow
my daughter to play on the swings while my son
could skate. All while moms could enjoy a book
in the grass instead of on a hot bench in the dusty
parking lot of the fairgrounds.
Skateboarding is also relatively inexpensive
compared to other sports and activities. It could
also be used for roller skating during the warmer
months when the Nashua Lions Club skating is not
available. This could also attract middle school-
aged kids who need a healthy and engaging activity
that doesn’t involve being on a screen.
Finally, the skate park will require very little
upkeep once it is completed, making it a low-cost
investment in our community that could have a
significant positive impact. They hope to break
