How do I know what's extensible in a page? Customizations are page specific, see Understand

What should I do if Express mode is not available for my page? The coverage of VB Express mode pages is still evolving and is
expected to evolve further in the upcoming releases. Kindly
await these forthcoming releases as we enhance the coverage
for VB Express mode pages.
Note: Please refrain from making any alterations, even if the
Advanced mode option is available for such pages. It is
important to note that only changes related to VB Express mode
are supported.
Why can't I see the Business Rules for my page? It means that Business Rules hasn’t been enabled for the page
yet.
What should I do if the change I need to do on a Redwood page is If the desired change is not covered in the guide, please use the
not listed in the guide or supported use cases? Customer Connect forum to post queries. Our development
team will review and provide guidance.

Why do I see the Start Preparing button on the Business Rules After selecting Configure Business Rules, you will see the Start
page? Preparing button on the Business Rules page when creating a
new rule. This is to prompt you to migrate any existing layouts
from layout(-x).json to metadata-rules(-x).json. It applies to all
dynamic layouts in the extension, occurring only once. Click the
Start Preparing button to load all rules and conditions.
Which release are the built-in rules available in Business Rules? Built-in rules, such as best practices or localization rules,
are targeted as of 24A and are page specific.
VB STUDIO

How do I enable VB Studio? To learn more about extending your application using VB
Studio, visit Oracle Help Center > your apps service area of
interest > Books > Configuration and Extension.
Before you can start working with VB Studio, a systems
administrator must set the requisite environment following
these instructions.
Which security is needed to access VB Studio? Refer to the Set Up VB Studio Users documentation
What do we do if we don’t have an identity admin in the system? Open a service request with the problem type-Cloud Hosting
Services (Outage, P2T/T2T, Enable SSO, Resize, CloudPortal,
MyServices, User/Password, Network, Schedule
Maintenance).
How do I use VB Studio with IP whitelisting? Open a service request to get VB Studio IP Addresses added
to the allowlist.
How do I use VB Studio with location-based access control (LBAC) Open a service request to get IP ranges for your VB Studio
enabled? instance and then update your LBAC setup with this
information.
How can we identify which POD has VB Studio associated? By default your VB Studio is associated with your test pod.
If you need to switch from the default test pod to a different
non-production instance, Oracle will support a one-time
switch through a service request.
We are working on an enhancement request that will allow
customers to have VB Studio access from every non-
production instance.

Is Page composer available for Redwood pages? Page Composer is applicable for responsive pages only.
Express mode of VB Studio must be used for Redwood pages.
Should I move all my changes from Page Composer to VB All extensibility changes done in a responsive page must be
Studio? done in the Redwood page using Express mode.
Will customizations done in Transaction Design Studio be All rules created in Transaction Design Studio must be manually
available in Redwood pages? created in Business Rules for the equivalent Redwood page.
Do I need a Sandbox or Customization Set Migration (CSM) No, you will not need these tools. You will be managing
tools for Redwood pages? extensibility changes as well as deployment or rollbacks using
Visual Builder Studio.

Fusion application. However, we do encourage
customers to keep an eye on the Fusion Application
release notes “What’s New” document to be aware of the
upcoming changes and enhancements.
Migration Is there any documentation on the Express Mode or Migration from one instance to another is handled
Business Rules migration from one instance to within Visual Builder Studio. For more information refer
another? to Set Up the Project to Deploy to Other DEV and TEST
Instances documentation.
Migration Can I use SSO for deployment? We currently support only Basic Authorization. We
encourage you to create a new idea lab request.
When submitting an idea lab request, please use
application as “Human Resources” and tag as “VB
Studio”.

for Your Oracle Cloud Application through Idea Labs on
Cloud Customer Connect (Doc ID 2254478.1) for more
information.
P2T Do I need to reapply the Express mode or Business Customer needs to re-deploy the extension from VB
Rules changes after P2T? Studio if it has disappeared from the target pod because
of P2T. The data in VB Studio is not impacted by P2T
and therefore customer can re-run the VBS Pipeline to
re-deploy the extension.
As a best practice, use VB Studio with a pod that is not
periodically impacted by P2T. If you must use for
example a TEST pod, be aware that if the TEST pod is
down then so will be your access to VB Studio (since it
federates the identity to TEST). Be prepared to re-
deploy your changes from VB Studio because P2T will
overwrite the TEST DB.
Please refer to Deploy an Extension From Your Local
System for additional guidance on P2T.
Upgrade Does Express mode need to be reapplied with each No need to recreate rules and other extensions, though
quarterly update and/or CWB changes? you should follow the best practices of testing all
customizations after each update.
