BIOGRAPHY OF HENERAL LUNA
General Antonio Luna was a Filipino general during the Philippine-
American War. He was known for his intelligence, bravery, and unorthodox military tactics. Luna was born in Binondo, Manila on October 29, 1866. He received his education at Ateneo Municipal de Manila and later studied in Spain, where he earned a degree in pharmacy.
After returning to the Philippines, Luna became involved in the
revolutionary movement against Spanish colonial rule. He served as a member of the revolutionary government and later as a general in the Philippine Army. Luna is best known for his role as chief of staff of the Philippine Army during the Philippine-American War. He was known for his aggressive tactics and his efforts to modernize the army, but he was also known for his volatile temper and tendency to alienate his subordinates.
Luna was assassinated on June 5, 1899 by a group of soldiers who
were unhappy with his leadership. His death was a major blow to the Philippine revolutionary movement, and he is remembered today as a hero and martyr in the Philippines.
