A. Preliminary Activities

1. Prayer
Before we begin the class this morning. Let
us pray first. Our Father… Amen. Our Father… Amen.

2. Greetings

Good morning class!

Good morning, Ma’am Fritz.
3. Checking of Attendance

Who are absent today?

None, Ma’am.
4. Review
Now, How are shadows formed? Shadows are formed when an object
comes between a surface and a source of
Very good, class! Base on your answers, I can light projecting onto it.
see that you really listened to the discussion last
week.

5. Drill

Before I start our class today, let’s first set our

house rules to maintain order and harmony in our
class. Okay, everybody read!

I have here a crossword puzzle plastered here on

the board. Now, I wanr you to look for words that
you think that will be part of our discussion today.
Am I clear, class? Yes, Ma’am.
Very good, class! You were able to find the words
completely. A round of applause for everybody,
please! But first let us unlock these words.
Everybodyplease read.

Water Cycle- is a continuous process

wherewaterundergoes changes.
Evaporation- the changing of water into gas.
Condensation- change of water vapor into
waterdroplets.
Precipitation- water falls from the sky in the
formof rain

6. Motivation

Can I have two volunteers here in front?Thank

you! Now, let us have a game. I will be holding a
word here at the back of the player and Iwant the
class to give clues and hints by giving words
describing or connected to the word I am holding to
help the player guess the word. Am I clear, class?
Yes, Ma’am!

FIRST WORD: SUN

Warm!
Yellow!

That’s right! Now, who wants to do the next set of
words?

PHRASE: WATER CYCLE

Evaporation!
Condensation!
Process!
Precipitation!

Very good, class and thank you to our two

wonderful volunteers.

B. Lesson Proper

1. Presentation
Our lesson today is all about the role of the sun in
water cycle.

2. Discussion
This time, I will be showing you a video about our
topic for today. Are you all excited, class?

https://youtu.be/Qu8X2TP6weU

So, what are the processes involved in the water

cycle, class?
Evaporation!
Condensation!
Precipitation!
Now you know the processes involved, can you tell
me what water cycle is again? Water cycle is a continuous process where
water undergoes changes.
Very good! Class, do you think the water cycle
is already complete? With all these processes? No ma’am because it is still lacking
ma’am. Which is the sun.
Very good! The sun! But, class! What will the sun
do in the water cycle? That what we are going to
discuss today, “The role of the sun in water cycle”.

The role of the sun in the water cycle is as follows-

 The sun plays a crucial role and provides

the heat energy essential for changing the
states of water.
 The heat from the sun melts the glaciers
and the water flows down the mountains to
reach the water bodies.
 Then the water collected here gets
evaporated and forms vapours that travel
back to the sky and lead to cloud formation.
 From here the water comes down as rain
and forms a cycle.

The sun helps in evaporation by heating the water

turning it into gas which will soon evaporate. And
then, the water cycle begins.

Condensation is the process by which water vapor

in the air is changed into liquid water. It is just the
complete opposite of evaporation.

Precipitation is the primary mechanism for

transporting water from the atmosphere to the
surface of the earth. In precipitation, water droplets
formed in the clouds will fall back to Earth as, rain.
3. Group Activity

I have here envelopes containing the task that

will be assigned to each group. I want each group
to participate and help one another to finish the
task. Am I understood, class?
Yes, Ma’am!
But before that, let us first read the keys to
remember in doing an activity.

K-eep with your group.

After your activity, I will be grading you based on

the following criteria.

Group 1
Arrange the puzzled picture of a water cycle.

Group 2
Name the process of the water cycle orderly.

Group 3
Draw the process of the water cycle.

4. Application

5. Generalization

What is our lesson today? Our lesson was all about the role of the
sun in the water cycle is that it helps in
heating water and turning it into gas that
will soon start the cycle, Ma’am!
Very good! A round of applause to everyone,
please!

IV. Evaluation
Answer the following by matching the description of the processes in Column
A to its process in Column B. Write your answer on the space provided before each
number.
COLUMN A COLUMN B
_________1.It is a process of turning water into gas. A. Condensation
_________2. Continuous process where water B. Sun
undergoes changes. C. Water Cycle
_________3. It is the process of turning gas into liquid. D. Evaporation
_________4. Falling back of water as rain.. E. Precipitation
_________5. The primary source of heat to start the watercycle

V. Assignment
In a short bond paper, draw the water cycle with its processes. Explain it briefly.
