Structure: S + be (am/ is/ are) + Ving Other examples: + I am teaching English right now. + You are learning English. * (-) Negative form: (picture) Ex: Timmy is sleeping. He is not doing homework. Structure: S + be (am/is/are) + not + Ving Other examples: + Linda is not studying at the moment. She is talking to her classmates. + We are not learning Math right now. We are learning English. * (?) Question form: + Be verb question: Situation: Picture 1: They are going out. Picture 2: They are staying home. => Ex: Are they going out today? + Picture 1: Yes, they are + Picture 2: No, they are not Structure: Be (Am/Is/Are) + S + Ving Other examples: + Is she coming to class? + Are you taking a photo of me? + Wh question: Situation: Picture 1: They are going out. Picture 2: They are staying home. => Ex: For picture 1: What are they doing now? For picture 2: Where are they staying at the moment? Structure: Wh- + be (am/is/are) + S + Ving Other examples: + Who is she talking to? + Where are you going?
In these cases, we can make the question in the verb “be” question form that is “Are they going out today?”
