Introdu
)24:‫َأۡق َفاُلَهٓا (محمد‬ ‫َأَفاَل َيَتَدَّبُروَن ٱۡل ُقۡر َء اَن َأۡم َع َلٰى ُقُلوٍب‬

There are various verses in the Qur’an which emphasize and teach the human being to
understand Qur’an such as the abovementioned verse which clearly indicates on the
contemplation and understanding the Qur’an. The Holy Qur’an has been sent as a manual guide
so every individual can benefit and implement and reach the proximity of the Almighty.
As we know, the Holy Qur’an was revealed in Arabic, so we are in need of learning this
language but this can never happen unless the person understands the Qur’an for which we are
require the translations. May this course help us in learning and getting acquainted with the
Qur’an and not being a part of this verse, where the hearts of the people are locked due to not
contemplating and understanding the Qur’an.

Method of the course


1. There are approximately 78,000 words in the Qur’an, of which, less than 2,000 words are
unique while the rest are repeated. Many of the unique words have been used in this
course.
2. This Quran course has been divided into three books in 48 Lessons, each book consisting
16 lessons. All the books have nouns, pronouns, prepositions and verbs in them. But the
approach which has been undertaken regarding the verbs is that, in Book 1 past tense has
been taught so when the student finishes Book 1 he is able to understand past tenses. In
Book 2 along with the past tense which were learnt in Book 1, the emphasis is on the
present tense. The student is expected to learn the present tense in book 2 and in book 3
along with the past and present tense, the emphasis is on the command tense. This
method makes it easier for the students to learn past tense then present tense and
therefore command tense respectively.
3. Each lesson requires 1.5 hours to completely memorize and translate the verses which
sums up to 72 hours for all the three books which consists of 48 lessons. 72 hours is just
3 days! Remember our beloved Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) struggled and spent 23
years of his life in pain and agony to get the Qur’an to us and explain it.
4. The course is based on sequential verses (starting from the beginning of the Qur’an to the
end) to make it easier for the students to learn and tally with the text of Qur’an along with
this course.
5. It is recommended to keep a personal Qur’an to refer to whenever required.

6. By the end of Book 1 the student is capable of understanding and constructing the past
tense Morphology chart to some extent.
7. Glossary of all the three books have the occurrence of each and every word in Qur’an,
which has been mentioned in this course.

Structure of the course


1. In the beginning of every lesson various verses have been given. Even though, the verses
are mentioned in the beginning of each lesson but they are translated after the explanation
of the vocabularies and review exercises to give the students more capability.
2. Review exercises are given so the students can translate them which are the part of the
verses itself which would result in translating the verses of the beginning of the lesson
easily and in a better way.

When the preposition ‫ ِل‬comes with an Attached pronoun, the Kasrah of ‫ ِل‬changes to Fathah
and it will have a physical change ‫ َل‬but the meaning will remain same as ‘for’.

‫‪Arabic words are divided into three parts: 1. Noun, 2. Verb and 3. Preposition‬‬

‫في – ِإَّن = ‪Preposition‬‬
‫‪Arabic sentences are either Nominal or Verbal.‬‬
‫ٓاَّل ِإَٰل َه ِإاَّل ُهَو ٱلَّر ۡح َٰم ُن ٱلَّر ِح يُم ‪Nominal Sentence = sentence that starts with a Noun e.g.,‬‬

Attention:
Nouns and Adjective
In the Arabic language the Noun comes before its adjective but in English while translating
such combination, we need to translate adjective before the noun. Remember that the adjective
follows the noun before in four things.

In order to find the meaning of a word, first we need to find the root word of that specific word
which is consisted of three constants usually. There are specific structures and forms of words
that present a specific meaning and when any root word is taken to that specific form or
structure, it will give the meaning of that specific form or structure.

‫َفَقْد آَتْيَنا آَل ِإْبَر اِهيَم اْلِكَتاَب َو اْلِح ْك َم َة َو آَتْيَناُهْم ُم ْلًك ا َع ِظ يًم ا [النساء‪]54 :‬‬

‫ِإَّن َهَّللا َج اِم ُع اْلُم َناِفِقيَن َو اْلَك اِفِر يَن ِفي َجَهَّنَم َجِم يًعا [النساء‪]140 :‬‬

‫ِإَّنا َأْو َح ْيَنا ِإَلْيَك َك َم ا َأْو َح ْيَنا ِإَلى ُنوٍح َو الَّنِبِّييَن ِم ْن َبْع ِد ِه … َو آَتْيَنا َداُووَد َز ُبوًرا [النساء‪]163 :‬‬

‫َيا َأُّيَها الَّناُس َقْد َج اَء ُك ْم ُبْر َهاٌن ِم ْن َر ِّبُك ْم َو َأْنَز ْلَنا ِإَلْيُك ْم ُنوًرا ُم ِبيًنا [النساء‪]174 :‬‬

‫‪RECITE AND TRANSLATE:‬‬
‫ِإۡذ َج َعَل ِفيُك ۡم َأۢن ِبَيٓاَء َو َجَع َلُك م ُّم ُلوٗك ا [المائدة‪]20 :‬‬

‫َٰذ ِلَك َلُهۡم ِخ ۡز ‪ٞ‬ي ِفي ٱلُّد ۡن َيۖا َو َلُهۡم ِفي ٱٓأۡلِخ َر ِة َع َذ اٌب َع ِظ يٌم [المائدة‪]33 :‬‬

‫َو َء اَتۡي َٰن ُه ٱِإۡل نِج يَل ِفيِه ُهٗد ى َو ُنو‪ٞ‬ر َو ُمَص ِّد ٗق ا ِّلَم ا َبۡي َن َيَد ۡي ِه ِم َن ٱلَّتۡو َر ٰى ِة َو ُهٗد ى َو َم ۡو ِع َظٗة ِّلۡل ُم َّتِقيَن [المائدة‪]46 :‬‬

‫َو َلۡو َأَّنُهۡم َأَقاُم وْا ٱلَّتۡو َر ٰى َة َو ٱِإۡل نِج يَل َو َم ٓا ُأنِز َل ِإَلۡي ِهم ِّم ن َّرِّبِهۡم [المائدة‪]66 :‬‬

‫َفَقاَل ٱَّلِذ يَن َكَفُروْا ِم ۡن ُهۡم ِإۡن َٰه َذ ٓا ِإاَّل ِس ۡح ‪ٞ‬ر ُّم ِبي‪ٞ‬ن [المائدة‪]110 :‬‬

‫َو ٱَّلِذ يَن َع ِم ُلوْا ٱلَّس َٔ‍ِّياِت ُثَّم َتاُبوْا ِم ۢن َبۡع ِد َها َو َء اَم ُنٓو ْا ِإَّن َر َّبَك ِم ۢن َبۡع ِد َها َلَغ ُفو‪ٞ‬ر َّر ِح ي‪ٞ‬م [األعراف‪]153 :‬‬

‫َٰٓل‬ ‫َٰٓل‬
‫َو ٱَّلِذ يَن َء اَم ُنوْا َم َع ۥُه َٰج َهُدوْا ِبَأۡم َٰو ِلِهۡم َو َأنُفِس ِهمۚۡ َو ُأْو ِئَك َلُهُم ٱۡل َخ ۡي َٰر ُۖت َو ُأْو ِئَك ُهُم ٱۡل ُم ۡف ِلُحوَن [التوبة‪]88 :‬‬

‫ِإَّن ٱَهَّلل ٱۡش َتَر ٰى ِم َن ٱۡل ُم ۡؤ ِمِنيَن َأنُفَس ُهۡم َو َأۡم َٰو َلُهم ِبَأَّن َلُهُم ٱۡل َج َّنَۚة … َو َٰذ ِلَك ُهَو ٱۡل َفۡو ُز ٱۡل َعِظ يُم [التوبة‪]111 :‬‬

‫َو ِلُك ِّل ُأَّمٖة َّرُسوۖ‪ٞ‬ل َفِإَذ ا َج ٓاَء َر ُسوُلُهۡم ُقِض َي َبۡي َنُهم ِبٱۡل ِقۡس ِط …[يونس‪]47 :‬‬

‫َو ِإَّن َك ِثيٗر ا ِّم َن ٱلَّناِس َع ۡن َء اَٰي ِتَنا َلَٰغ ِفُلوَن [يونس‪]92 :‬‬

‫فعل متعدی ایسا فعل جو مکمل ہونے کے لیے فاعل کے عالوہ مفعول کی بھی ضرورت‬ -1

Attention:
The Transitive and Intransitive Verb
1- A verb is transitive if the action has an object without which the sense would be
incomplete. e.g., ‫َنَص َر َع ِلٌي َز يدًا‬
2- A verb is intransitive if the action does not pass on to an object e.g.; ‫ َج اَء َع ِلٌي‬Ali came.
Remember:
In Arabic language an Intransitive verb can change to a transitive verb by bringing a preposition
at the beginning of object or by converting a Trilateral verb into a derived verbal form.
Example:
Then they came to them with the clear evidences ‫َفَج ٓاُء وُهم ِبٱۡل َبِّيَٰن ِت پھر وہ ان کے پاس کھلے‬
‫دالئل لے کر آئے‬

Jarr Letters: ‫حروف جاره‬

‫َو ٱُهَّلل َخ َلَقُك ۡم …‪ِ.‬إَّن ٱَهَّلل َع ِلي‪ٞ‬م َقِد ي‪ٞ‬ر [النحل‪]70 :‬‬

‫َو َنَّز ۡل َنا َع َلۡي َك ٱۡل ِكَٰت َب ِتۡب َٰي ٗن ا ِّلُك ِّل َش ۡي ٖء َو ُهٗد ى َو َر ۡح َم ٗة َو ُبۡش َر ٰى ِل ۡلُم ۡس ِلِم يَن [النحل‪]89 :‬‬

‫َو َلَقۡد َج ٓاَء ُهۡم َر ُسو‪ٞ‬ل ِّم ۡن ُهۡم َفَك َّذ ُبوُه َفَأَخ َذ ُهُم ٱۡل َع َذ اُب َو ُهۡم َٰظ ِلُم وَن [النحل‪]113 :‬‬

‫ِإَّن ٱَهَّلل َم َع ٱَّلِذ يَن ٱَّتَقوْا َّو ٱَّلِذ يَن ُهم ُّم ۡح ِس ُنوَن [النحل‪]128 :‬‬

‫َو َء اَتۡي َنا ُم وَس ى ٱۡل ِكَٰت َب َو َجَع ۡل َٰن ُه ُهٗد ى ِّلَبِنٓي ِإۡس َٰٓر ِء يَل [اإلسراء‪]2 :‬‬

‫ِإۡن َأۡح َس نُتۡم َأۡح َس نُتۡم َأِلنُفِس ُك ۖۡم َو ِإۡن َأَس ۡأ ُتۡم َفَلَهۚا [اإلسراء‪]7 :‬‬

‫ِإَّن ٱۡل ُمَبِّذ ِر يَن َك اُنٓو ْا ِإۡخ َٰو َن ٱلَّش َٰي ِط يِۖن َو َك اَن ٱلَّشۡي َٰط ُن ِلَر ِّبِهۦ َك ُفوٗر ا [اإلسراء‪]27 :‬‬

‫َو ُهَو ٱُهَّلل ٓاَل ِإَٰل َه ِإاَّل ُهَۖو َلُه ٱۡل َح ۡم ُد ِفي ٱُأۡلوَلٰى َو ٱٓأۡلِخ َر ِۖة َو َلُه اْلُح ْك ُم …[القصص‪]70 :‬‬

‫َٰٓل‬
‫َو ٱَّلِذ يَن َكَفُروْا َٔ‍ِباَٰي ِت ٱِهَّلل َو ِلَقٓاِئِهٓۦ ‪َ ...‬و ُأْو ِئَك َلُهۡم َع َذ اٌب َأِلي‪ٞ‬م [العنكبوت‪]23 :‬‬

‫‪َ..‬كَفٰى ِبٱِهَّلل َبۡي ِني َو َبۡي َنُك ۡم َش ِهيٗد ۖا …[العنكبوت‪]52 :‬‬

‫َو ِإۡذ َأَخ ۡذ َنا ِم َن ٱلَّنِبۧ‍ِّيَن ِم يَٰث َقُهۡم َو ِم نَك َو ِم ن ُّنوٖح َو ِإۡب َٰر ِهيَم َو ُم وَس ٰى َو ِع يَس ى ٱۡب ِن َم ۡر َيَۖم َو َأَخ ۡذ َنا ِم ۡن ُهم ِّم يَٰث ًقا َغ ِليٗظ ا [األحزاب‪]7 :‬‬

‫َأَع َّد ٱُهَّلل َلُهم َّم ۡغ ِفَر ٗة َو َأۡج ًرا َع ِظ يٗم ا [األحزاب‪]35 :‬‬

‫َّم ا َك اَن ُمَح َّم ٌد َأَبٓا َأَحٖد ِّم ن ِّر َج اِلُك ۡم َو َٰل ِكن َّرُسوَل ٱِهَّلل َو َخاَتَم ٱلَّنِبۧ‍ِّيَۗن َو َك اَن ٱُهَّلل ِبُك ِّل َش ۡي ٍء َع ِليٗم ا [األحزاب‪]40 :‬‬

Attention:
There is a very simple way to change a masculine noun to a feminine noun. Remember when it
is said that a masculine word can be changed into a feminine word, this necessarily does not
mean real gender.

‫‪Lesson 14‬‬
‫‪RECITE AND TRANSLATE:‬‬
‫ِإَّن ٱَهَّلل َٰع ِلُم َغ ۡي ِب ٱلَّس َٰم َٰو ِت َو ٱَأۡلۡر ِۚض ِإَّن ۥُه َع ِليُۢم ِبَذ اِت ٱلُّص ُدوِر [فاطر‪]38 :‬‬
‫يٓس ‪َ ١‬و ٱۡل ُقۡر َء اِن ٱۡل َحِكيِم ‪ِ ٢‬إَّنَك َلِم َن ٱۡل ُم ۡر َسِليَن ‪َ ٣‬ع َلٰى ِص َٰر ٖط ُّم ۡس َتِقيٖم ‪[ ٤‬يس‪]4-1 :‬‬
‫َو َٰب َر ۡك َنا َع َلۡي ِه َو َع َلٰٓى ِإۡس َٰح َۚق َو ِم ن ُذ ِّرَّيِت ِهَم ا ُم ۡح ِس ‪ٞ‬ن َو َظاِل‪ٞ‬م ِّلَنۡف ِس ِهۦ ُم ِبي‪ٞ‬ن ‪[ ١١٣‬الصافات‪]113 :‬‬
‫َو َلَقۡد َم َنَّنا َع َلٰى ُم وَس ٰى َو َٰه ُروَن ‪[ ١١٤‬الصافات‪]114 :‬‬
‫َو ِإَّن ِإۡل َياَس َلِم َن ٱۡل ُم ۡر َسِليَن ‪ ١٢٣‬ٱَهَّلل َر َّبُك ۡم َو َر َّب َء اَبٓاِئُك ُم ٱَأۡلَّو ِليَن ‪[ ١٢٦‬الصافات‪]123/126 :‬‬
‫ِإَّن ٱۡل َٰخ ِس ِر يَن ٱَّلِذ يَن َخ ِس ُر ٓو ْا َأنُفَس ُهۡم َو َأۡه ِليِهۡم َيۡو َم ٱۡل ِقَٰي َم ِۗة َأَلا َٰذ ِلَك ُهَو ٱۡل ُم ِبيُن [الزمر‪]15 :‬‬
‫َٰذ ِلَك َج َز ٓاُء َأۡع َدٓاِء ٱِهَّلل ٱلَّناُۖر َلُهۡم ِفيَها َداُر ٱۡل ُخ ۡل ِد ‪[ ..‬فصلت‪]28 :‬‬
‫َو ِم ۡن َء اَٰي ِتِه ٱَّلۡي ُل َو ٱلَّنَهاُر َو ٱلَّش ۡم ُس َو ٱۡل َقَم ُۚر …ٱَّلِذ ي َخ َلَقُهَّن …[فصلت‪]37 :‬‬
‫ِإَّن ٱَّلِذ يَن َكَفُروْا ِبٱلِّذ ۡك ِر َلَّم ا َج ٓاَء ُهۖۡم َو ِإَّن ۥُه َلِكَٰت ٌب َع ِز ي‪ٞ‬ز [فصلت‪]41 :‬‬

‫اسم کی جمع دو قسم کی ہوتی ہے۔ سالم جمع اور جمع مکسر۔‬

‫ٱُهَّلل ٱَّلِذٓي َأنَز َل ٱۡل ِكَٰت َب ِبٱۡل َح ِّق وَٱۡل ِم يَز اَۗن … َلَع َّل ٱلَّس اَع َة َقِر ي‪ٞ‬ب [الشورى‪]17 :‬‬
‫َو ِم ۡن َء اَٰي ِتِهۦ َخ ۡل ُق ٱلَّس َٰم َٰو ِت َو ٱَأۡلۡر ِض َو َم ا َبَّث ِفيِهَم ا ِم ن َد ٓاَّبٖۚة … [الشورى‪]29 :‬‬

‫َو ٱَّلِذ يَن َكَفُروْا َو َك َّذ ُبوْا َٔ‍ِباَٰي ِتَنٓا ُأْو ِئَك َأۡص َٰح ُب ٱلَّناِر َٰخ ِلِد يَن ِفيَهۖا َو ِبۡئ َس ٱۡل َم ِص يُر [التغابن‪]10 :‬‬
‫َقاَل َٰي َقۡو ِم ِإِّني َلُك ۡم َنِذ ي‪ٞ‬ر ُّم ِبيٌن ‪ِ.. ٢‬إَّن َأَج َل ٱِهَّلل ِإَذ ا َج ٓاَء …[نوح‪]4-2 :‬‬
‫َقاَل ُنو‪ٞ‬ح َّرِّب ِإَّنُهۡم َع َص ۡو ِني [نوح‪]21 :‬‬
‫ِإَّنٓا َأنَز ۡل َٰن ُه ِفي َلۡي َلِة ٱۡل َقۡد ِر ‪َ ١‬و َم ٓا َأۡد َر ٰى َك َم ا َلۡي َلُة ٱۡل َقۡد ِر ‪َ ٢‬لۡي َلُة ٱۡل َقۡد ِر َخ ۡي ‪ٞ‬ر ِّم ۡن َأۡل ِف َش ۡه رٖ‪[ ٣‬القدر‪]3-1 :‬‬

Attention
The plural form of nouns is of two types; Sound plural and Broken Plural.
Broken plural is a plural form in which the sequence of the letters of singular noun is either
changed or a letter has been removed.

The table below shows the example of Broken Plural:

Note:
When a broken plural is used in a verbal sentence, the verb before it can come in two ways, i.
Masculine form ii. Feminine form.
