Our first scenario of our roleplay base on autocratic leadership onboard,


this will show the mixed culture scenario of every individuals onboard
ship that shows the conflict of the chief mate and captain when avoiding
fishing boats when the order is to stay on course
SHOWING SCENARIO
CAPTAIN ( AQUINO ) – chief why didn’t you follow the order to stay on course of 090*?
CHIEFMATE ( SADULLO)- sir it would be better to prioritize safety of the ship and crew
CAPTAIN ( AQUINO ) – I already emailed to port control
CHIEFMATE ( SADULLO)- sir I still think it would be best to prioritize our safety sir
CAPTAIN ( AQUINO ) – if you think youre better make sure you have a higher rank than
me
CHIEFMATE ( SADULLO)- no sir
CAPTAIN ( AQUINO ) – then follow the order to stay on course 090*
CHIEFMATE ( SADULLO)- ok sir, AB Hardport*
MICHAEL GIAN ESPINOSA (A/B) – Roger, Hardport sir.
The second scenario is about the democratic leadership onboard this will
show the communication that the 2nd mate and AB when navigating
through sea when there is a storm present.

SHOWING SCENARIO
CHRISTIAN BULFA ( 2nd MATE ) – AB what’s your latest weather update this typhoon
seems to be very strong don’t you think
MICHAEL GIAN ESPINOSA (A/B)- based on the update it is classified as a super
typhoon.
CHRISTIAN BULFA ( 2nd MATE ) – when is expected in our postion right now.
MICHAEL GIAN ESPINOSA (A/B)- the wind in our position is expected to increase
CHRISTIAN BULFA ( 2nd MATE ) – is the sea state expected to change within the few next
hours?
MICHAEL GIAN ESPINOSA (A/B)- no sir the sea state is not expected to change within
the few next hours
CHRISTIAN BULFA ( 2nd MATE ) – keep monitoring the typhoon and report immediately
if you need assistance all
MICHAEL GIAN ESPINOSA (A/B)- thank you sir I’ll keep you up to date on the situation

The third scenario is about Free-Rein or Laisse-Faire Leadership


onboard it is leadership style in which leaders are hands-off and allow
group members to make the decisions that is communicated by the
filipino OS and CADET.

The last scenario is about the Paternalistic leadership onboard this


shows a managerial approach that involves a dominant authority figure
and treats employees and partners as though they were members of a
large, extended family and will be presented by the filipino Mariners
