1 Introduction
WellLink RT (WLRT) is a real-time WITSML-compliant service to host and dynamically visualize
well data from multiple well sites. Global access is enabled through a secure SSL-encrypted
Internet connection.
Microsoft Edge Internet Explorer compatibility mode is used for some of the Baker Hughes sites.
These must be included as follows before first use.

WellLink RT Quick Start Guide
1. Open Microsoft Edge, select the three dots at top right to open the properties menu then
select Settings
It is a requirement to add the server that you will access based on the region shown below.
Multiple sites can be added as required.
1. In the Windows Start Menu type “Internet Options” and open this from control Panel
2. Select the Sites button, click Add; enter the required URL (see table) then, click Close and
OK.
5 Log in to WellLink RT
1. Once the steps above have been completed navigate to https://ros.bakerhughes.com
and log in with the provided username and password. Feel free to save this URL as a
bookmark to access our services.
2. Under the WellLink™ RT heading, click the region where the well is located.
After selecting the appropriate region, The WLRT log in page will load and a Windows Security
Warning may appear. Click Run.
Check the option “Open this page in Internet Explorer mode next time”. WLRT will now launch in IE
Mode automatically (for the next 30 days).
1. Enter your credentials and login. The first login the system files (DLLs) are downloaded, this
may take a few minutes on initial load, subsequent logins will be faster.
Display Templates
For further tips, access the Online Help.
1. Click on icon.
2. Under the Public Displays folder, click to expand the folders and view a list of available
display templates. Some client specific displays are available to select.
3. Select the desired log display template and click to move the log display to the
bottom of the Selected displays list. A maximum of 20 displays can be selected at a given
time. The order of displays in the menu may be changed by clicking the or icons.
4. Click Close.
. The selected log display now appears as a display tab on the main page.
5. Select the display tab to view the data using that log display.
To view displays in a new window, right-click the display tab and select
NOTICE Detach display. Detached displays automatically re-launch when
returning to WellLink™ RT on the next login.
10 Additional Options
Each log display has a toolbar at the bottom with useful information and shortcuts for the active
wellbore:
Rulers: Place markers on a log to display exact data values at the time or depth of
the ruler. To manage ruler markings, right-click on the log and select Ruler.
Chart Legend: Enable or disable specific log mnemonics
Go to: Quickly view a specific time or depth
Export: Export curve data for the active log display
Print: Print the active log display or create an image in a specific format
Auto scroll: Continuously display new log data as it is received
11 Customizing a Display
Public Displays can be customized and saved as Personal Displays by following these steps:
3. Right-click on the tab for the Public Display and choose Set as Private Display.
5. Right-click on the tab and choose Edit Display. A small toolbar appears just below the tab.
There are many options for widgets to be added or modified. For guidance and
assistance, contact BEACON.
For reference, the following table describes the options within the Display Manager window:
1. For Depth log displays, select Zoom and select the appropriate depth scales from the
dropdown.
2. Click Depth Mode to change between Measured Depth and True Vertical Depth.
3. Similarly for Time based log displays, click zoom and select the appropriate time based scale
from the dropdown.
1. Select Export by right-clicking over the active area of a log track or by clicking the
icon in the display toolbar located at the bottom of all time and depth displays.
2. Select the file type, curves, data format and range required.
3. Click OK to export.
4. The file export message box opens at top right. When the file has completed exporting,
click on Download to open or save the file.
