To talk about a past event.

AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES
SUBJECT REGULAR OR IRREGULAR COMPLEMENT
PRONOUN VERB IN PAST
I worked go/went
You studied sleep/ slept

She danced make/ made
It stopped drive/ drove
We walked eat/ ate
You enjoyed drink/ drank

Examples:
I played soccer yesterday. We did our homework at home.
She went to the zoo. Laura wrote a letter.
He celebrated his birthday on Saturday.

NEGATIVE SENTENCES:

VERB WITH NOT
I did not / didn´t play soccer.
You did not / didn´t study for the exam.
He did not / didn´t go to church.
She did not / didn´t sleep at home.
It did not / didn´t eat eggs.
We did not / didn´t come to class on Saturday.
You did not / didn´t enjoy the party.
They did not / didn´t drink beer.

Examples:
I didn´t sleep in my house last night. They didn´t come to school.
She didn´t go to Canada last year. We didn´t do yoga.
He didn´t wear his glasses today. Kate didn´t watch the new soap opera.

Regular verbs rules.

1.- A todos los verbos REGULARES terminados en E = agregar D para formar su pasado.

2.- Todos los verbos REGULARES terminados en una consonante más Y= eliminas la Y y
agregas IED.

Study = studIED
Cry = crIED
Try = TrIED
Carry = CarrIED

3.- Todos los verbos REGULARES terminados en una vocal más Y, solo se agrega ED.

Play = playED
Pray = PrayED
Enjoy = enjoyED

4.- Todos los verbos REGULARES con:


1. Una sola silaba (Shop)
2. Terminados en una sola consonante (p)
3. Una sola vocal antes de la consonante en que termina. (o)

Duplicas la consonante en que termina y agregas ED. (p – pp)

5.- A todos los demás verbos agrega ED para formar su pasado.
