Play the “Concentration Game”

a. Teacher prepares 10 cards consecutively numbered.
At the back of each number card are the following:

1. circle 2. 3. Rectangle 4. 5. Square

6. Triangle 7. 8. 9. Oblong 10.

b. Teacher divides the class into two groups.

c. A student from a group chooses 2 numbers, say 1 and 9.
d. Teacher opens the number cards and finds out if the drawing and word match. If they match, another student from the same group chooses another pair
of numbers and so on.
e. If the contents of the numbers don’t match, the teacher flips the cards again to show the numbers (not the word or drawing). Then a player from another
group chooses the next pair of numbers, and so on.
f. The group with the most number of correctly matched pairs wins.

Group the class into two.

Paste the cut-outs in the table below. Then Write the number of sides
and the name of polygon.

3. Ask the following:
 What polygon has five sides?
 What polygon has six sides?
 What polygon has seven sides?
 What polygon has eight sides?
 What polygon has nine sides?
 What polygon has ten sides?
 What polygon has eleven sides?

Group I – Draw Me! 2. Present the lesson using Powerpoint slide decks.
Directions: Draw and color the polygon with 5 – 12 sides. Then
Write the number of sides and name of the polygon. Solid Figures

They are identified according to their unique characteristics - the number and
shape of the faces, number of edges, and vertices.

A face is the flat surface of a solid figure.

Rubrics in Drawing Polygons

Criteria 1 3 4 5
An edge is formed when two faces meet. An edge is a straight line segment.

A vertex is a point where edges meet.

A pyramid has only one base, which can also be any polygon. The other faces
are triangulars which meet at a common vertex.
A pyramid is also named after the shape of its base.

CONE

 What is the shape of the base of a cone?

Cone has a circular base and one vertex.
