ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
Bridging the Gap for MATHEMATICS 7

RATIONALE
Grade 7 learners passed the subject but then some of the learners need supplemental activities in
particular lesson which they didn't achieve the good performance level in this matter. This supplemental
activity for remedial will help the learners to catch up to the lessons and for those who gain good outcome
to their written and performance will serve as additional learning in enhancing their skills for this lesson.

OBJECTIVES
In this supplemental activities, the learners will be able to:

 remediate and enhance their skills in solving algebraic expressions and polynomials; and
 apply their knowledge about the lesson in real life problems.

PLAN
The teacher will send a soft copy and video lesson through online platform and for those learners
who cannot access internet; the teacher will provide a hard copy of the supplemental activities with given
examples.

The teacher will also conduct home visitation for those learners who need extra guidance and
assistance in answering the supplemental activity.

The teacher will send additional activity for those learners who achieve high academic
performances through online platform (messenger).

PARTICIPANTS
All Grade 7 Students
A. These supplemental lessons and activities are intended to the learners who need to take remedial
class.

SUPPLEMENTAL LESSON:

Lesson 1: Evaluating algebraic expressions given the values of variable

Example #1: If x= 5, y= 2, z= -4, the value of algebraic expression 3x+ 7xy2z is ______.

Solution: 3x+7y2 z
3(5) + 7 (2)2(-4) (Substitute the value of the variables to expression
them solve by applying the PEMDAS RULE)
15 + 7(4)(-4) (Simplify)
15 + 28 (-4) (Simplify)
15+ (-112) (apply the rules in adding integers)
=97

Example #2: if m=10 and n=-10, find 3m3+ 2n2.

Solution: 3(10)3+2(-10)2
=3(1000)+ 2(100)
=3000+ 200
=3200

Lesson 2: Adding and Subtracting Polynomials

Example #3: add 2x+4y and 5x+3y+z

Solution: 2x+4y (Use vertical methid to solve for the sum)

+ 5x+3y-z (align the terms which has the same variable and exponent)
7x+7y-z

Example #4: (10x4y2+ 3xyz) + (4x2y4- xyz)

Solution: 10x4y2+ 3xyz

+ 4x2y4 - xyz
4x2y4+ 10x4y2+ 2xyz

Lesson: Law of exponents

The Laws of Exponents are as follow:
1. Product of Powers: (am)(an )= am+n
2. Power of a Power: (am)n = amn
3. Quotient of Powers (am/an)= a m-n
4. Zero Exponent a0 = 1 where a ≠ 0
5. Negative Exponent a-n= 1/an

Example #5: 43 = 4(4)(4) =64

Example #6: (-2y)2. 7yb4= (-2)2y2 . 7yb4 = 42y2.7yb4= 28y3b4

Lesson: Special Products

Example #7: (x+3) (x-3)

Solution: F = x(×) =x2
O= x (-3) = -3×
I= 3 (x) =3x
L= 3(-3)= -9

Equation: x2+3x-3×-9
Answer: x2-9

Example #8: (x-5) (x-5)

Solution: F= x(×)=×2
O=x (-5)=-5×
I=-5(×)=5×
L= (-5)(-5)=25

Equation: x2-5×-5×+25
Answer: x2-10×+25

Lesson: Finding the unknown value of an equation

Example #9: Find the value of m in the equation 7m-3=6.

Solution: 3m-3=6
3m=6+3 (transpose -3 to the other side of equal sign and change the sign)
3m =9 (Simplify)
3m/3= 9/3 (Divide both side by 3 to cancel 3 beside the variable m)
m=3.

Example #10: Find the vue of x in the equation 12x+4= 8x - 16.

Solution: 12x+4=8×-16
12×-8×=-16-4 (Combine like terms by transposing the terms)
4x=-20 (Simplify)
4x/4= -20/4 (Divide both sides by 4 to cancel the 4 beside the variable x.)
x= -5
