TAUHEED

Tauheed means "Unification" (making something one) or "asserting oneness", and

it comes from the Arabic verb (wahhada) which itself means to unite, unify or
consolidate.
However, when the term Tauheed is used in reference to Allah (i.e. Tauheedullah )
it means the realizing and maintaining of Allah's unity and in all of man's actions
that directly or indirectly related to him
It is the belief that Allah is one, without a partner in his dominion and his action,
one without similitude in his essence and attributes, and one without rival in his
divinity and worship

CATEGORIES OF TAUHEED
Tauheed – ar - Ruboobeeyah (Maintaining the unity of lordship)
Tauheed al - Asmaa was Sifaat (Maintaining the unity of Allah's name and
attributes)
Tauheed - ar – Ebaadah (Maintaining the unity of worship)

Tauheed ar-Ruboobeeyah (Maintaining the unity of lordship)

This category is based on the fundamental concept that Allah alone created all
things to exist when there was nothing.
He sustains and maintains creation without any need form it or for it, and He is the
sole lord of the universe and it's inhabitant without any real challenge to his
sovereignty
Tauheed al-Asmaa-was-sifaat (Maintaining the unity of Allah's Names and
attributes)
This category of tauheed has some aspects:
For the unity of Allah's name and attributes to be maintained in the first aspect.
Allah must be referred to according to how he and his prophet (SAW) have
described Him without explaining away his names and attribute by giving them
meaning other than their obvious meanings.

Tauheed ar – Ebaadah (Maintaining the unity of worship)

"If you asked them who created them, they would surely say, Allah (43:87)
You (alone) we worship, and you (alone) we ask for help (for each and everything)

Allah's form of worship must be directed only to Allah because he alone deserves
worship, and he is alone who can grant benefit to man as a result of his worship

SHIRK (POLYTHEISM)
Verily, Allah forgive not that partner should be set up with him in worship,
But he forgives except that (anything else) to whom he pleases,
And whoever sets up a partnership with Allah in worship, has indeed invented a
tremendous sin.

EFFECT OF TAUHEED ON HUMAN LIFE

BROADMINDED:
A believer in the Kalimah can never be narrow in outlook. He believes in ALLAH
who is the creator of heaven and earth, the master of the east and west, and the
sustainer of the entire universe. After this belief, he does not regard anything in the
world as a stranger to himself. He looks at everything in the universe as belonging
to the same lord he belongs to. His sympathy, love, and service are not confined to
any particular sphere or group. His vision is enlarged, his intellectual horizon
widens, and his outlook become as liberal and as boundless as the kingdom of
God.
SELF-RESPECT AND SELF-ESTEEM:

This belief produces in man the highest degree of self-respect and self-esteem. The
believer knows that Allah alone is the possessor of all power and that none besides
him can benefit or harm a person, provides for his needs, give and take away life or
wield authority or influence. This conviction makes make him indifferent to and
independent and fearless of, all powers other than those of God. He never bows his
head in homage to any of Allah's creatures nor does he stretch out his hand before
anyone else. He is not overawed by anybody's greatness

Satisfaction:

The believer never becomes despondent. He is a firm Faith in Allah who is the
master of all the treasures of earth and the heavens, whose grave and bounty have
no limit and whose power is infinite. This faith imparts to his heart extraordinary
consolation, fills it with satisfaction, and keep it filled with hope although he may
meet with rejection from all side of this world, faith it and dependence on god
never leave him, and on their strength, he goes on struggling. Such profound
confidence can result from no other belief than belief in one Allah.
