find. Once you find it you will put
it on these two ice creams and share
out cherries with equally as
possible.

You can start now finding the

cherries!

C. Activity Mystery Puzzle

Instructions: I will group you into

4 group and each group will be
given a mystery scenario involving
division. And I will give you 5
minutes to arrange the puzzle and
solve the mystery scenario. After
you solve the mystery puzzle, the
representative will present there
uncover mystery.
Group 1
Treasure Chest:

● Scenario: A treasure chest

has 12 gold coins. The

Okay times up!

Who is the representative of group

1? Can you come in front?

What is the mystery puzzle of your

group that you and your group
solve?

Is that correct?

That’s correct, we divide 12 gold

coins to 3 members. 12 divided by
3 is equal 4.

Next group 2 representative. Can

you come in front?

What is the mystery puzzle of your

group that you and your group
solve?

A treasure chest has 12 gold

coins. The pirate wants to divide
them equally among his 3 crew
members. How many gold coins
each member crew will receive?
The answer is each member
crew received 4 gold coins.

That’s correct, we divide 21 toys to

3 containers. 21 divided by 3 is Yes!
equal 7.
Next group 3 representative. Can
you come in front?

What is the mystery puzzle of your

group that you and your group
solve?

Tim has 21 toys in his toy box.

He wants to organize them
equally into 3 containers. How
many toys will go into each
container? The answer is each
container has 7 toys.
Very good, we divide 20 slices of
pizza to 4 friends. 20 divided by 4
is equal 5.
Yes!
Last group 3 representative. Can
you come in front?

What is the mystery puzzle of your

group that you and your group
solve?

Excellent! we divide 16 apples A group of friends is having a

equally among 2 baskets. 16 pizza party, and they have
divided by 2 is equal 8. ordered 20 slices of pizza. The
challenge is to distribute the
slices equally among 4 friends.
Next we have here guide questions. How many slices each friend
gets? The answer is each friend
got 5 slices of pizza.
Guided questions:

1. What is the title of our

activity?
2. What we use to make equal
groups?
3. How did you and your
group solve the mystery
puzzle?
4. What method of division
your group use?
5. Do you agree that division
is importance in our daily
life? Why?

Farmer Joe has 16 apples, and he

wants to distribute them equally
among 2 baskets for his farm
animals. How many apples go
into each basket? The answer is
each baskets has 8 apples.

D. Analysis And now, Let us proceed to our

next lesson, so that we can fully
understand of what we are
discussing today.

The title of our topic for today is…

Lesson 2: Dividing 2-Digit

Numbers without a Remainder

Again, what is the topic for today

everyone?
Dividing 2-digit numbers
without a remainder!

Are you ready to listen?

Yes!

We will learn how to divide two-

digit numbers without having any
remainder.

We need to divide numbers for

different situations every day.
Since we may not always have
counters to show the dividend, we
divide numbers by recalling
multiplication facts.

We arrange the numbers in a

division house to solve 30 ÷ 15.

The number that is divided is the

dividend. The dividend is 30.
The number that is divides is the
divisor. The divisor is 15.

Now, find the number of times 15

will make 30. Since 2 x 15 is equal
30, the answer is 2. The answer that
we get on dividing is the quotient.

The leftover part is called the

remainder. The remainder is 0.
E. Generalization How do we divide 2-digit numbers?
What steps do we follow?

To divide 2-digit numbers, we

arrange the numbers to be divided
in the division house. Then, we
think of how many times the divisor
will be dividend to get the quotient.
We then multiply the quotient with
the divisor, write it below the
dividend, and subtract. The answer
we get after dividing is called the
remainder. This method is called
the long division method of
division.

Do you learn something? Are you

excited to our next activity?

We will have another activity of

what have you learned in our
lesson.

● Yes!
Math Relay Race

Instructions: Each group will be

given a piece of petal of the flower
and they will write in what they
learned in the lesson. And they will
put it back on the flower.

-I will give you 5 minutes to finish

it.
F. Application Now it's time for some applications.

Dice Division:

Instructions:
-Each group representative will roll
the dice to solve the real-life
scenario. (ex. Scenario: You have
24 cookies, and you want to share
them equally among 6 friends. How
many cookies will each friend
receive?

(Answer: 24 ÷ 6 = 4 cookies per

person).

Lets find our workbook in Math

block 13 page 29 and complete the
worksheet S2. I will give you 10
minutes to finish it.
