Conclusion

In the previous sec�ons, it explained to us about the self-development model, its keys dimensions,
and how it connects to form a dynamic process that can result in self-development. Self-leaders also
have self-control that can shape their own personal development and growth.

Other than that, self-leader must also possess other personality traits such as self-confident and
posi�ve a�tude. Self-confident comes from self-esteem and self-concept. Moreover, leaders have a
special ability that make them stand out which is their commitment to avoid nega�ve thinking and
strive to deal with the situa�ons or circumstances with posi�ve a�tude that can lead them to success.
When someone has a posi�ve outlook, they are able to see these circumstances as chances rather
than as bad opportuni�es for themselves. Since self-improvement is a risky ac�vity, taking risks in
decision-making is a requirement of the leadership role. We already acknowledge the fact that most
of the leaders tend to be risk-takers. Most of them take risks even though they fully aware that the
outcome of taking risks are either posi�ve or nega�ve which indicate as success or failure. But leaders
do not focus on failure, instead they embrace the fact that success also come from failure. Leaders are
also capable of making decisions quick, clear and final which we call it as decisiveness. Decisiveness is
important in leadership because this skill demonstrates confident and trust in one’s ins�nct that
backed up by knowledge and experience. Furthermore, evolving from one thing to even a greater thing
is also an important step that can help us to be successful. This is the reason why leaders think that
keeping a status quo is not a way to improve yourself and success never come from maintaining a
status quo because it can affect the ability to make decisions. Instead of staying in one place that never
progress into something greater, those who seek to become a beter version of themself will develop
gradually to become a person they aspire to be. Just like the saying “Those who don’t strive to change
can never be evolve”.

Although being a leader sound cool, this posi�on can be really tough. You have to maintain
composure even under pressure, inspire others, offering guidance, con�nue learning, and achieve the
goals that set on you. That’s why a leadership posi�on is given to someone with knowledge, skills,
prepara�ons, and experiences. Even in the case where you are “ready” for this posi�on, it’s s�ll not
enough if you lack certain experiences. That’s why in the paragraph it quoted that “No individual is
ever totally “ready” to assume a new leadership posi�on. This is because wearing the leadership
mantle is not the same as being ready to wear the leadership mantle.” There’s a different between
being “just ready” and being ready to take on the responsibili�es with experiences and prepara�on.

Thank you Sinta for your great par�cipa�on in this presenta�on. So without delaying any more �me,
I will get straight to the point. Leaders who go through facilitate learning process (is where the students
are encouraged to take more control of their learning process- picking apart ideas, forming their own
thoughts, and owning materials through self-explora�on) can shape their behavior, increase value,
improve self-esteem, build self-confidence and build a team that can create a win-win situa�on. As
Sinta have already men�oned above, a good leader need to have great responsibili�es, experiences
and prepara�ons. But what’s make them even greater as leaders is that they know how to work in
group by giving the opportunity to those who enhance the high probability that can help them achieve
their personal goals. With this, it shows the leader’s atempt of developing advantageous social
rela�onship that can forge an accomplishment of both personal and team’s goals.. In this case, it’s
mean that when a leader is able to acknowledge the team members, respect their opinions, appreciate
the team’s effort and provide posi�ve feedback, this will help encourage a posi�ve environment that
will result in great achievement for everyone in the team.
However, in the leadership development process there are some challenges that the leader will face
and overcome it because facing those challenges are a part of improvement that can lead to success.
This can be comparable to the development phases that individual go through their life�me. The
different is that the leadership development process is the subset of the human development process.
Everyone is capable of being a leader if they have the ability to lead his or her self first while the
organiza�onal leadership come a�er. With this understanding, leaders should have their own resume
in order to keep track of their experience and reflect upon the mistakes and obstacle they overcame
through their journey. This can assist as a method for the leaders to connect their previous
achievement to their upcoming goals that will help build their own personal leadership quali�es. Self-
leadership is a core concept that emphasizes self-improvement and posi�ve ac�on, requiring leaders
to be proac�ve and keep the momentum to evolve throughout the process.

Overall, in this reading assignment we talked about self-leadership, the importance of leadership
and the development process of self-leadership. The core of self-leadership is self-improvement. With
self-improvement, leaders will gain their own self-mo�va�on that addi�onally leads to self-esteem,
self-concept, self-confident, which are they keys dimension in leadership process. And before I close
this presenta�on, I want to make the last remark addressing the quote from Coach Nekomata that said
“Those who don’t strive to change can never be evolve”. So in my best regard, I hope that everyone
of us who present here will be able to change, develop and improve yourself to evolve into someone
even greater than you are now. Either you want to become an effec�ve leader or a president of the
country, please start by believing in yourself and reach for the goals that you set upon yourself. And
lastly, I want to thank my team members who work in this presenta�on together for their great efforts
and par�cipa�on in everything, I also want to thank everyone here who sparing their valuable �me to
listen to this presenta�on. And of course, thank to Teacher Thearom for help us reflect upon ourselves
by doing this reading assignment. Thank you so much to everyone.
