B: Hello Sam. Nice to meet you. Come in.

S: Thanks. Oh, wow!
B: That’s what everyone says when they walk into my house.
S: Well, from the outside it looks really small. But, actually, it’s not too bad.
B: Yeah. It is a small house. But, as you can see, it has everything I need.
Would you like to look around?
S: Yes please! OK, so this is the kitchen. It’s not very big, but I see you have
a little stove and a refrigerator.
B: That’s right. But I don’t cook much. And this is the living room...
S: Oh, very nice. There’s a sofa and two chairs ...
B: Yeah. My three friends come here every Saturday and we watch soccer on
TV.
S: Four of you in this living room? Um, isn’t that a bit, uh ...
B: Yes. It’s a bit difficult! But we’re good friends, so it’s OK. And here’s the
bathroom. But there’s no room for a bathtub.
S: But you have a shower.
B: Yes. And a toilet, of course. That’s all I need. And here’s my bedroom.
S: OK. There’s a small closet ... Oh, wait a minute. Where’s your bed?
B: My bed is in the wall! At night, I just … do this …
S: Oh!
B: And … there is my bed!
S: So, there is more space during the day. Very clever! So, Brad, do you like
your house?
B: For now, it’s perfect. I spend a lot of time at work, I live on my own, and
I don’t really need much at home. And, of course, it’s cheap! Only 500
dollars a month. Much less than my friends pay for their houses.
S: And in the future?
B: In the future, I want to get married and have children. I’ll need a bigger
house then, of course!
