I.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, pupils are able to:

1. Students will be able to express addition and subtraction equations in

multiple different ways, by adding and subtracting physical items
through multiple activities, discussions, and observations.
2. Add and subtract one-two digit numbers
3. Relate subtraction with addition
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Addition and Subtraction
Textbook: Kinder Mathematics Book
Materials: Image, sticks, visual aid etc.
Skills: analyzing, counting,
III. PROCEDURE/LEARNING PROCESS
A. Daily Routine
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Classroom Management: arranging of chairs, checking of
cleanliness
4. Checking of attendance

B. Review:
C. Motivation:
 If they arrive a correct answer, they will receive an award.
D. Presentation of the lesson:
Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity
“Ok class, does everyone knows to “Yes, Ma’am”
count?”

“For now, we will discuss about the

Addition and Subtraction, we will start first
in Addition” “Adding numbers, Ma’am”

“So, for you class what is Addition?”

“Ok, that was correct” “It is a process of subtracting numbers”

“What is Subtraction?”
E. Lesson Proper
Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

“Ok I have here some practice activities.

You can use your sticks for you to arrive to
correct answers” “10” (student answered)

“3 + 7 = _____” “5” (student answered)

“3 + 2 = _____”

“All of your answers are correct”

Addition is the process of putting two or

more numbers or things together.

Example: 3 + 4 = 7

In the addition sentence, 3 and 4 are

called addends while 7is called sum.

Addends are the numbers being added

while sum is the result in addition.

Here 1 ball
is added
to 1 ball
to make 2
balls:
Using Numerals, it is: 1+1=2

And in words it is:

"One plus
one equals
two"
Subtraction is the process of taking away
one number from another.

Example: 7 - 2 = 5
The number 7 is called the minuend. It is
the number being subtracted from.

The number 2 is called the subtrahend or

the number used to subtract.
Then, 5 is called the difference or
remainder, which is the answer in
subtraction.

Subtraction is the inverse operation of

addition
