REFLECTION PAPER
(IMPORTANCE OF ETHICS IN OUR SOCIETY)

It's a good idea to evaluate what I've learned so far this semester about ethics. To begin
with, what does ethics mean to me today? From my perspective, ethics is a logical
comprehension that has taught me that morality is about right and wrong, which
establishes what individuals should and shouldn't do in terms of their free will, virtues,
obligations, and rights. To make sure that our standards are realistic, I think it's
important to keep an eye on them. Ethics should have a continuous effort within our
own moral beliefs, to make us the better person all around.

Pursuing this further, this learning gave me a good outlook as a person and it lecture
shaped my perception and thoughts on this subject. During my experience on this
subject, I’ve found that the importance of ethics in the society is quite pronounced, even
though there are many laws in the society that are intended to guide its people. Ethics
are aimed at developing and evaluating moral standards in the society. It does so by
ensuring that the actions of people in a certain group in the society act in a certain way.
This is by stating what is ethically acceptable in the group, for instance professionals in
the health care.

Ethic also acts a guide that guides the conduct of people in the society. Ethics guide
people in a certain group in the society on what they can do and what they cannot do.

Ethics are set by the people in a group in the society compared to laws that are
formulated by elected officers and officers in authority. As such the members of the
society or group are more likely to be believed in ethics compared to laws even though
non-compliance with the law may result to punishment by the state. Also when
examining the “righteousness” of an action, ethics is about reflecting on the actions
guided by moral lenses compared to laws that are straight forward. This helps the
society to develop its scope of actions and hence helps the law to develop.

Ethics is also in the society in that it helps people to avoid negative consequences on
others. Through the actions that a human being takes, the consequences affect the rest
in the society. Where the action is ethical, then the consequences are positive on the
rest. This is in contrast with law where when some actions, even though legal, are
taken; the consequences are negative on the rest in the society. This helps reduce
suffering to people in the society.

Studying ethics proved to be an invaluable experience to me in a few ways. First, this

experienced help me to look our own life critically and to evaluate our
actions/choices/decisions. It assists a person in knowing what he/she really is and what
is best for him/her and what he/she has to do in order to attain it. Second, it helps me to
think better about morality. Moral philosophy can help us to clarify our moral positions
when we make judgements. It improves our perspective, and makes it more reflective
and better thought out. Lastly, this experienced help me to sharpen my general thinking
processes. It trains my mind to think logically and reasonably and to handle moral
issues with greater clarity. Ethics becomes inevitable as by nature human being is a
‘social’ being, a being living in relationship with other fellow beings and with the nature
around. That I’ve learned that all actions, whether one is aware of it or not, some way or
another affects the others.

In conclusion, if you do not study ethics, chances are you will have no opportunity to
carefully reflect on the values that shape your life, no chance to think about whether the
values in your society are wise or foolish, no chance to expand your awareness of the
values of other persons. As always, I sincerely appreciate the guidance of our instructor
to able to provide me this kind of experienced and learning that I’ve learned from him
though I didn’t really cope up all of things that I’ve learned in this reflection paper but
within my heart this learninghas hands-down improved my life academically,
professionally, and personally.

REFLECTION PAPER
(ROLE OF RELIGION IN OUR SOCIETY)

As is common knowledge, religion offers spiritual, social, psychological, and frequently

tangible assistance to individuals and families. The religious practice of the community
in anyplace can unite individuals and facilitate communication and interaction. Religion
therefore supports social stability and cohesion. The role of religion in society are
multifaceted giving life meaning and purpose, promoting societal stability and
togetherness, and serving as a social control agent, encouraging optimal bodily and
mental health, and inspiring individuals to are all instances of positive social change
work.

Furthermore, it gives people a common set of beliefs, which makes it a vital tool for
socialization. Religion thus reinforces social order, functions as a social control
mechanism, and educates individuals how to uphold moral behavior, giving them the
opportunity to discover how to be improved members of the community, leading to more
peace and cohesion.

Of all these advantages, one of the most significant advantages of religion for me is
implications of religion on my future work emphasizes the significance of fostering unity,
not just to myself but also with my co-workers and institution that i will be working to in
the future. I will be an epitome of harmony as I will be inspiring everyone to oppose and
put an end to the use of religion as a banner to provide sacred ground for conflicts. That
is why, in order to promote religious harmony, workers must be vigilant against religious
extremism. That being said, all religions strive for peace, condemn violence, promote
universal love, and preach goodness. To do so, we must first begin with ourselves. We
should treat each other and their beliefs with respect and tolerance, rather than inciting
religious enmity or hatred.

The range of religious beliefs among employees can offer a company a number of
viewpoints. However, from a human resources standpoint, managing religious diversity
in the workplace can be difficult. Tolerance and acceptance of religious viewpoints are
essential, as is the ability to accommodate those who may require additional time off or
have special requirements due to their religious beliefs. Having said that, I'd try to
encourage my employees to accept diversity. While many religions are diametrically
opposed, once they are accepted, they can find common ground. We should encourage
employee monitoring and, if there is apparent dissatisfaction over religious issues,
encourage the two parties to discuss their faith and problems in a private setting, away
from other workers, so that they can better understand one another. Encourage
employees to collaborate and find common
ground. We should encourage employee monitoring and, if there is apparent
dissatisfaction over religious issues, encourage them to discuss their faith and problems
in a private setting, away from other workers, so that they can better understand one

Numerous religious communities have contributed significantly to the growth of

society. And it was then that I realized that, despite their religious roots, people must
learn to unite.Members of various religious communities must acknowledge that other
religions may preach something very different than their own understanding of God,
truth, salvation, or liberation. Rather than pretending that these differences do not exist,
we must acknowledge them and allow people to investigate them. Lastly, individuals
can feel safe and comfortable in the workplace when they work together and respect
one another. Employees are happier in their jobs, and this can boost company morale
significantly. People will stay with a company longer if they enjoy their jobs and the
people they work with.
