For the NEET exam, it's important to have a well-rounded strategy for approaching multiple-
choice questions (MCQs). Here are some tips: Shall I attempt all the 180 questions in NEET
even if not sure in some questions?
1. Understand the Exam Format: Familiarize yourself with the exam pattern, marking
scheme, and the number of questions in each section.
Why do I work out previous year NEET question
2. Time Management: Allocate time to each section and question. Don't spend too papers though no question is re-asked?
much time on a single question.
Which MCQ is best for preparing for the NEET
3. Read Carefully: Read each question and all the options carefully before selecting an exam?
answer. Pay attention to keywords and qualifiers in the question.

4. Process of Elimination: If you're unsure about an answer, use the process of

elimination to rule out obviously incorrect options.

5. Answer Every Question: There's no negative marking for wrong answers in NEET, so
make sure to attempt every question.

6. Practice Regularly: Practice previous years' question papers and mock tests to get
familiar with the types of questions and to improve your speed and accuracy.

7. Stay Calm: It's important to stay calm and focused during the exam. If you're feeling
stuck on a question, move on and come back to it later if time permits.

Remember, the NEET exam covers topics in physics, chemistry, and biology, so it's essential to
have a strong understanding of these subjects and to revise thoroughly before the exam. Good
luck!

Thanks for the A2A

Well I had different strategy for different subjects-

1. Biology- I made sure I always read every question twice. Apart from that I used to skip
the long questions which had many statements for the second round. So I always had
multiple rounds for each subject.

2. Chemistry— I feel I had a good grip on this subject. I did inorganic and organic
questions first. After this I used to mark the conceptual questions from physical
chemistry. Finally the calculative part. Mostly I completed Chem in 30 mins. The time
taken in every subject depends on you. So don't think that 30 mins is the time limit.
Follow your comfort zone.

3. Physics- initially I had a fear of this subject. So I always did the conceptual and easy
questions of this subject first. After that I switched to the moderate portion and
numericals in the second round. Finally the difficult questions in the third round.

I suggest that always have multiple rounds while solving. Sometimes out of stress or tension
you may not remember the exact terms, Skip that question and try the next one. Getting stuck
at one question leads to time waste. Also don't have these ego issues like my bio is the
strongest how can I forget the answer, etc. These thoughts are hazardous. At that point of time
try to remain relaxed as much as you can.
I hope this helps. Good luck 🤞

Unlike the usual B-C-P strategy, I had an unorthodox P-B-C approach.

My teachers and mentors advised to solve the paper in 2–3 rounds, and this sounds sensible
too. But I attempted maximum ques in first round itself and a very few of them were left for the
second one. (I was not very good in recognising tricky question 😅 . The question left in first
round were mostly those which took more time or I didn't knew the answer )

So a basic idea of tha plan is:-

Solve Physics in the first hour. No need to solve all the questions. Start with 29–30 questions , it
will gradually reach 40+. Avoid questions involving long calculation. Fill the OMR at end of the
hour for only those questions which you are sure of. No matter what, don't give more than
one hour.

Now start Biology. I myself took 55–60 minutes in the beginning but eventually it reduced to 35
minutes. After attempting complete biology fill OMR. 50 minutes for this whole act is a good
start but try to minimize this time to 40–45.

Then comes chemistry part. 15 min for 15 physical chemistry questions (obviously leave 2–3 of
them😝). Less than 15 min for organic part. And 10 minutes for inorganic. If done perfectly this
whole act along with OMR filling will take about 40 Minutes.

So at the end you are left with 30 minutes. Use this for remaining questions.

Some prefer filling OMR after a certain (10–15) number of questions. I personally felt cosy in
filling them after completing whole subject.

An unspoken basic act of time management is not to waste time in lengthy questions in the
first round. You may feel like solving them but please, don't get carried away.

Okay, so that was my style of solving NEET paper. I practiced it from the beginning and it
certainly gave very good results.

I didn't like BCP pattern coz in that, people tend to rush in biology and chemistry in order to
maximize time for physics. This increases the chance of error in former subjects.

I am not encouraging you to follow this PBC method (especially those who are weak in physics).
Find out a way that works well for you and stick to it till the end.

✌️Peace✌️

Related What kind of silly mistakes happen during neet prep (whille practising
questions) and neet exam? How to avoid them what steps should be taken?
Thank you for requesting (and peeche padoing😂) to answer this Q, Himani

Silly mistakes are the inevitable parts of every person’s life. Nullifying them requires a lot of
patience and practice. There used to be many Q, which on checking made me yell inside the
mind “Oh yes! It should’ve been Option X, why did I mark Option Y?! 🙆‍♂️” Messing up in an
otherwise doable Q was a nightmare.

I went back and looked at the various kind of silly mistakes that I’d committed (or was about
to commit) in the tests. This is the data for the 10 tests that I’d given previously, including
NEET 2021.

I have classified my silly mistakes (Total - 65) into 6 categories. (Along with an example mistake,
bear with the poor quality of images😅)

Category A : Missing out keywords/key-details. Due to which, there occurs a misinterpretation

of Question. This mainly occurs due to reading in haste or poor reading habit.
See this Q, missing the word “Maximum” elongation would have led to calculating the
elongation in the equilibrium position.

Category B : Failing to consider all possibilities, permutations & combinations and arriving at
an incomplete answer. Mostly, this occurs due to lack of adequate exposure to such kind of Q.

In this Q, missing out either anode or cathode side discharge would have given an incomplete
answer.

Category C : Mix-up of concepts/formulae/diagrams and realising that only when I check the
paper post-examination.😑 This was mainly due to poor revision strategies or lack of revision.

This is one of the famous questions in which concept mixing occurred frequently. I often failed
to distinguish between number of mitotic “divisions” and number of mitotic “generations”. (But
then realised it after making couple of mistakes in Q of this type😅)

Category D : The most famous “Calculation” errors😭 These used to haunt me in

Ratio/Reciprocal involving Q or options. These used to occur mainly due to calculation in
haste/slow calculation methods.
Here I’d missed the multiplication with 3 and ended up with a wrong answer, which was
actually present in the options too.😱

Category E : Failing to keep note of Units or signs. (Due to presumption and carelessness😑)

This is one famous Q🥲, where I remember, including me, almost 85% of the candidates made
mistake, presuming that γ denotes coefficient of cubical expansion.

Category F : 😑Very different and mysterious category of mistakes, can be due to multitasking
(Thinking about previous Q while attempting a Q😅), deprival of sleep, etc…

I still don’t know why I’d marked the wrong answer here, I clearly knew I was wrong right after
seeing the same Q when I was checking.🙁

So, these were the different categories, it took a lot of micro and macro changes to reduce
them. Initially, silly mistakes were very frequent, but in these last 10 tests, I think it was certainly
a good improvement.

Micro changes included uninterrupted sound sleep of 7-8 hrs, avoiding bad eatables
(Especially sugar), Vedic math techniques for quick and errorless calculation, etc…

Macro changes include :

Organised Calculation with the power of “3” : Separated a page into 3, wrote complete
solutions/calculations & checked the mistake-prone Qs.

Because of this, more than 60% (of 65 mistakes) were found during the exam and got corrected
instantaneously. Time gets saved by doing this, otherwise, I would sit and do the whole process
once again to check the answers.😅

“Dot & Fill” OMR Bubbling :

This way used to take the shortest possible time for each sub (In order), like,

Biology - 30 mins

Chemistry - 30 mins

Physics - 60-75 mins

Filling up dotted bubbles (Leaving doubtful Q) - 15 mins

Checking/Unattempted Q - 30-45 mins

The last 30-45 mins were the golden minutes of each test, for they were when I was able to
gain (or recover the ones I was about to lose) the marks.

Enhancing reading habit on a daily-basis : This one was inspired from a technique
suggested by my Zoology teacher. Whenever I used to make mistake in a Q in exam, I used to
utilise this opportunity to get back to NCERT/Modules to read about it, simultaneously
inculcate a good reading habit, which was in the verge of extinction and due to which Category
A mistakes occurred very frequently.

Not only that, but the mistake short notes were also made by this manner. I ensured that if I
make mistake in a concept Y, mistake short notes consisted X, Y and Z to ensure that I don’t
commit the same class of mistakes again.

Kolkata: The price (& size) of these

This was done after getting a Q on Heart attack incorrect. After that, I don’t remember making
mistake in the topic “Defects in PQRST Waves.”

Enrichment of Revision and Prudent Q practice : Unlike previous habit of revising once or
twice in a week, I tried to revise whole syllabus in one/two days with the help of short notes.
Though my teachers suggested investing time on Q practice rather than revision, I felt I was
able to achieve greater speed with daily revision.

Moreover, Q practice was also going on, only for those topics which actually deserved practice.
It was possible by two things, Sheets given after the tests and “Ctrl+F”😁

Examples of Positive and negative deviation used to trouble a lot, once I remember attempting
all possible types of Q in that topic to ensure that I am not leaving behind anything in the
mistakes short notes.

As a result of all of these, I was able to maintain the number of careless mistakes as low as
possible in the final examination too.

First 4 were the mistakes which were avoided successfully during the 30-45 mins checking. But
the last 2(Literally the silliest ones in this world, bets are welcome) threw dust in my eyes😑

Maybe if all these things were implemented a bit earlier, I could have almost nullified the
number of careless mistakes. Nevertheless, I am happy that I was able to alert people regarding
various possibilities of careless mistakes.😁 Ab aap log jitna jaldi ho skhe utna jaldi ye try krke
silly mistakes nullify krdo. Best wishes.😊

Hi there, I wouldn't say that I had some strategy, but I always started with biology, then
chemistry and physics in the end. Out of the 3 hours, I completed bio in 30–35 mins,
Chemistry in maximum of 40 mins. The remaining 1+ hours dedicated only to physics.

I have seen many of my fellow students marking all the answers in the question paper and after
completion of the exam, they would bubble the omr. But this has a drawback. Just imagine that

Related How many MCQs did you practice daily for each subject during the NEET
prep?
This is a pretty interesting yet tricky question for me 😜🐱

But nevertheless I am gonna be honest.

My physics was always in the worst scenario , so I practiced 30 mcqs each day so 1 chapter
each ( 2 chapters a day looked nightmare for me )

My chemistry was pretty good and it my fav subject too so I practiced about 3 chapters each
day that is about 90 mcqs

And biology was obviously my favourite subject hence up doing 8 chapters at a go that is
about 240 mcqs.

I generally followed MTG mcqs for practicing mcqs.

It is the strategy for solving MCQs, that actually determines the output of your hardwork and
knowledge in competitive exams like NEET. If your practice and strategy is insufficient and
inefficient, then your result will be unexpectedly low, no matter how much you have revised
your syllabus. Coming to the point,

1. I set myself to solve complete NEET question paper with marking omr within two and half

I used to attempt bio … chem nd then phy… . In round 1 all those qstns which can be done
easily without formula or using too much brain… . In round 2 all those numericals nd analytical
qstns… . . Nd at last those uh have marked in doubt like 50–50 or to recall later… .. So in that

My strategy for solving MCQ’s is that first of all I used to read the whole chapter ..and
understand the concepts ..then I start doing MCQ’s ..also In a question , I don’t refer only at the
correct option but also I go through the other options too..and try to build questions in
reference to option too..😊😊

For more practice you could also try to solve MCQ on OMR sheet ..so that in exam you dont
bubble the wrong option…😊

Hello!

First start with biology

ensure that you solve atleast 60 questions in 45 minutes, don't worry if u haven't completed 60
in 45 mins. Encourage yourself and move to chemistry.

For chemistry allot 1 hr for 35 questions, well and good if u complete extra questions within 1hr
at the same time don't panic if u have attempted less questions.

For physics allot 1 hr for 30 questions and follow the same pattern.

Now u will have 15 mins solve all the remaining questionsake sure u solve inky the ones you
are confident.

If you find it(300) a huge number, please don't worry because when I also heard about this I was

In physics I use to solve approx 400 questions because in it more perfection is required.
