INTRODUCTION

The 21'st century, the technology era, is the period of its development. Technology is
deeply rooted in everybody’s life as of today, particularly education. Technology refers to
practical uses of scientific knowledge and human inventions that assists in day-to-day
activities. In this generation, technology is used every now-and-then, anywhere. It simplify
lives and convenient to use. Everyone needs technology as it is a must have tool. People in
this modern world cannot do without technology as almost everything relies from it. The
importance of technology depends on how people apply it when addressing social work
issues.

This study focuses on determining the downside effects of technology expansion on

individuals. Everyone uses technology daily for education, communication, health purposes,
job creation or business growth, and has become a big help to us as it constantly improving.
However, technology still has its limitations.

As technology expands people might start depending on technology even more which could
lead to someone's tardiness and irresponsible behaviors because of how dependent they are
on technology. Societal division can also be one of its effects on the people who are able and
unable to afford these technologies. This could also serve as a distraction, students in
particular, who tend to be on their phones scrolling rather than communicating with their
peers. Lastly, privacy. It is important to keep our personal information safe although some
applications indicates keeping personal information secure. It doesn’t mean it is 100% safe
for potential privacy risks as technology is still in progress.

While using technology, be cautious and anticipate consequences if something goes

wrong. Technology affects the communication skill of a person, it either improves or
deteriorate. Also, the emotional intelligence of a person is affected. For example, the things
that they learn and saw from social media using technology will influence their perspectives.
It has its own pros and cons. Thus, this is how everything works for humans, specifically in
today’s generation where technology is used frequently and people prefers being at home
with their devices rather than being outside and enjoying life.
