3. Competitors must have a PTA-affiliated instructor residing in the Philippines.
4. Competitors must have a valid 2024 National Competitor’s Card or NCC.
5. Competitors must be colored belts or black belts.

C OM P E T I TI O N R UL E S

1. The most updated WT Competition Rules and Interpretation, PTA Technical Guidelines, and PTA
Competition Code of Conduct shall be enforced at all events.
2. Categories should have a minimum of four (4) competitors.
3. Categories with three (3) or fewer participants will be merged into adjacent categories until
the minimum number of four (4) competitors is reached in the merged category.
4. In case 2 or more players from the same chapter are in the same category, these players will not meet
in the first match unless a “bye” is drawn by one player (a “bye” is considered a match win).

M E TH OD OF C OM P E TITION

1. Match System:
i. Colored Belts – Eliminations to Finals: Two (2) Round System.
ii. Black belts - Eliminations to Quarterfinals: Two (2) Round System.
- Semi-Finals and Finals: Best of three (3) Rounds.
2. Senior Matches 1.5 minutes x 30 seconds rest in between rounds.
3. Junior Matches 1.5 minutes x 30 seconds rest in between rounds.
4. Cadet Matches 1 minute x 20 seconds rest in between rounds.
5. Grade School Matches 1 minute x 20 seconds rest in between rounds.
6. Toddler Matches 1 minute x 20 seconds rest in between rounds.
7. Appeal Card: 1x Modified IVR Quota will apply to all matches.

Competitors shall wear the official kyorugi competition uniform and protective gear accredited and
recognized by the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA). These include the following.
i. Kyorugi Competition Uniform
ii. Arm Guards
iii. Shin Guards
iv. Groin Guard
v. Hand Gloves
vi. White or transparent mouthguards
vii. E-foot Protectors
NOTE: KPNP sensor socks are compulsory and must be brought by the contestants.

WEIGH–IN AND HEIGHT CHECK

1. General Weigh-in and Height check of the competitors will be held from May 17 – 19, 2024.
2. Random Height and Weight verification procedure:
i. Random Height and Weight verification will take place in the venue on May 25 – 26, 2024.
ii. Chosen participants for the Random Height and Weight verification will be posted on the following
websites:

iii. Posting of Random Height and Weight verification will be done daily, three (3) hours before the
scheduled competition call time.
iv. Posting of Random Height and Weight verification will follow the schedule below.

v. The verification schedule will be strictly followed. Athletes who are late or fail to show up for their
schedule will be automatically disqualified.

DISQUALIFICATION

1. DISQUALIFICATION DUE TO WRONG WEIGHT OR HEIGHT REGISTRATION – Competitors who registered

the wrong weight or height on the day of the weigh-in WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
2. DISQUALIFICATION DUE TO RANDOM HEIGHT AND WEIGHT VERIFICATION.
 Height Verification – competitors over their registered height will be DISQUALIFIED.
 Weight Verification – competitors over the 5% threshold for their registered weight category
will be DISQUALIFIED.
 Competitors who are LATE or NO-SHOW for the Random Height and Weight Verification will be
DISQUALIFIED.
3. NO-SHOW COMPETITORS – Competitors will be paged three (3) times to go to their assigned area by the
PA system. Failure to appear in the designated area will be considered NO-SHOW.
 NO-SHOW Competitors will be announced and DISQUALIFIED.
4. DISQUALIFICATION DUE TO BEHAVIOUR – Competitors loitering inside the Field of Play will be
disqualified from their match.
 Competition winners loitering inside the Field of Play will be stripped of their medals.

G E N E RAL G U I D E L I N E S

1. The PTA Competition Codes of Conduct shall be strictly enforced.

2. The latest resolutions on competition management, rules, and regulations made during the PTA
Technical Directors meeting shall be enforced.
3. For all other matters not provided for in these ground rules, the current WT Competition Rules and
Interpretation shall apply.
4. Kyorugi Competition Uniform:

  Contestants shall use only PTA-recognized brands of Taekwondo Kyorugi Competition Uniform.
 Contestants shall use the correct uniform color based on their division.
MALE FEMALE

NOTE: UNIFORMS with PHI or PHILIPPINES PRINT are NOT ALLOWED TO BE USED FOR ALL LOCAL
EVENTS.

5. Contestants ID: All participants must wear their NCC. Only participants wearing the NCC will be
allowed to enter the venue.
6. Coaches ID: Coaches are required to wear their updated PTA Instructors’ ID.
Only coaches wearing the PTA instructors’ ID are allowed to coach and to enter the FOP.
7. Coach Dress Code and Regulations
 Athletic attire with collared shirt / team tracksuit or business attire.
 Jeans and dobok are not permitted.
 Closed footwear only; no heels or sandals.
 No chewing gum or use of electronic devices, such as cell phones, PDA or video cameras.
 All coaches are required to wear a coach’s vest inside the Field of Play.
 No slippers or sandals, caps, sleeveless shirts, tattered pants will be allowed.
8. Referees: Only National and Regional Referees who have passed the course for the current rules
shall serve during the competition. They shall serve full-time.
9. Spectator Admission (Entrance Tickets): P150 / day (per head)
10. DIVISION CHANGES: Competitors who changed categories will be charged ₱1,000 as a TRANSFER FEE.

L IM ITA TION OF L IA BIL ITY ( FOR E V E NT S C HE D ULE C H A NGES )

Please be informed that the OC shall not and cannot be held liable for any expenses and costs incurred
by the teams for traveling to the event in case of cancellation or schedule change of the event. The
teams are strongly urged and advised to make sure to have their own sufficient travel, cancellation and
medical insurance. The OC shall not accept any claims or requests for compensation in case of
cancellation of the event.
