INTRODUCTION

• Electric powered bikes have become common these days. People are shifting to
this alternate from the traditional fuel-driven modes of transportation. While there
are many reasons to do so, it is important to understand that electric bikes are here
to stay.
• They are more affordable, good for the environment, and have an innovative
approach.
• These battery-driven vehicles are turning heads on-road and becoming common
but will they replace the standard vehicles in the future.
• It is difficult to say because, despite its pros, electric bikes in terms of mileage,
longer battery life, and availability have a long journey ahead.

•It has 250w motor powered by 48volt Lead Acid Battery.

•It has a eco friendly power electric bike.
CONTINUE

•The electric bike is a bike which is a driven with the help of pedaling and
battery which coupled to electric motor with chain mechanism.

•E-bike uses rechargeable batteries and the lighter variant can travel up-to 25 to
32 km/hr. while high powered varieties can often do in excess of 45km/hr.

•It is a environment friendly bike which do not produce any harmful gases
during operation.
LITRATURE REVIEW

▪ The presents a reviewon Portable Electric Bike (PEB).

▪ This was first developed in 1890’sinus and those were documented within various US patents.

▪ On 31stDec,1895 Ogden Bolton designed a battery powered cycle.

▪ He designe dusing 6pole brush and commuter DC hub motor connected to the rear wheel. He was then
granted a US patent.

• In China 9 out of 10 Electric bikes are sold, thereby proving that they are not only energy efficient but
also relative cheaper than other electric automobiles.

▪ Taking considerations of recent events of meager resources and facilities at their disposal, over
increasing traffic, snags problem of parking and the need to make automobile a more environmental
friendly, designers of vehicles are back with a view to hit upon a novel concept that completely alter the
conventional design.

▪ Recent developments on Electric bike which are pedal operated are tremendously increasing all over the
world market.

▪ In China 9 out of 10 Electric bikes are sold, thereby proving that they are not only energy efficient but
also relative cheaper than other electric automobiles.

BATTERIES WHICH WILL BE USED
IN ELECTRIC BIKE

❑ Electric bike are mainly powered by three types of batteries and

here the acronyms that usually accompany them,

▪ Nickle Metal Hybrid Battery (NiMH)

▪ Sealed Lead Acid Battery (SLA)

▪ Lithium ion Battery (Li-ion, Lep, LiPo)

E-BIKE COMPONENTS:-

•HUB MOTOR:-
•The motor is having 250 watt. Capacity with maximum 2100 rpm. Its specifications are as follows:
•Current Rating: 7.5amp
•Voltage Rating: 48 Volts
•Cooling: Air – cooled
•Bearing: Single row ball
BATTERY:-

▪ The battery also acts as a condenser in a way that it

stores the electric energy produced by the generator
due to
electrochemical transformation and supply it on
demand.
• E-bike has 250 watt motor which is
powered by 48 volt lead acid battery. Which
is going to give a 60 km

ADVANTAGES

• Easy to commute with low fatigue.

• Less maintenance cost.
• Deployable batteries – can be taken inside house.
• Cost of the unit is very low.
• Easy to carry since it is portable.
• Less energy consumed.
• High efficiency can be obtained if inverter is used.
• If using solar panel, free utilization of energy can be done.
DISADVANTAGES

•Highly in cost.
•Battery has a rather short lifespan.
•Battery charge time is long.
•Riding range remains low.
•E-bikes are considerably heavier.
•Maintenance and repairs are costly.
•E-bikes tend to have low resale value.
•E-bike manufacturing remains not environmentally friendly.
Conclusion :-

Taking into account theses progressive trends in the developed countries, we cannot
ever imagine that there could be any shortage of energy in this world or there should
be necessary for other solutions. Considering the developments, it seems that every
thing is going smoothly and this energy crisis seems to be unreal. But when we move
towards other side, the countries who are developing and mainly thosecountries who
are under-development.
CONTINUE

But when we move towards other side, the countries who are developing
and mainly those countries who are under-development, then we realize
how heavy this energy crisis is. There people do not have regular electricity
even for their household needs then how it is possible to use it for the
external requirements that is where the alternative ways stand as the only
rescue option for them to function somehow if it is made of available there.
