Paryayas (Rounds) and Transits in Nadi Astrology

This passage explains Paryayas (planetary cycles) and Transits (planetary movements) used
in Nadi Astrology to predict life events.

1. Jupiter's Paryayas:

 Jupiter takes 12 years to complete a zodiac cycle (one Paryaya).

 Each year, Jupiter moves to a new sign (transit).
 The first 12 years (first Paryaya) focus on growth, mind, and health.
 Subsequent Paryayas are associated with different life stages:
o Second Paryaya (13-24 years): Teenage years, transition from childhood.
o Third Paryaya (25-36 years): Education, career exploration.
o Fourth Paryaya (37-48 years): Family focus, raising children.
o Fifth Paryaya (49-60 years): Stability, acquiring property, vehicles.
o Sixth Paryaya (61-72 years): Health concerns, potential financial issues.
o Seventh Paryaya (73-84 years): Potential for depression, need for family
support.

2. Calculating Paryaya Length based on Birth Position:

 The remaining degrees in Jupiter's sign at birth determine the starting point of the next
Paryaya.
 Example: Jupiter at 20 degrees in a sign at birth indicates 10 degrees (1/3) remaining
in that sign.
o The second Paryaya in the next sign (Sagittarius) starts after 4 years (10
degrees * 12/30).
 Retrograde Jupiter: Some astrologers adjust calculations for retrograde Jupiter, but the
author finds accurate predictions without it.

3. Transits and Paryayas Combined:

 Favorable transits of Jupiter combined with good planetary combinations in the birth
chart (natal chart) lead to positive outcomes.
 Studying Paryayas and annual transits of Jupiter helps predict 60% of life events.
4. Saturn's Paryayas:

 Saturn takes 30 years to complete a zodiac cycle (three Paryayas).

 Similar to Jupiter, remaining degrees at birth determine the starting point of each
Paryaya.
 Example: Saturn at 20 degrees at birth signifies 10 years remaining in the first
Paryaya.
 Subsequent Paryayas are associated with career and responsibilities:
o Second Paryaya (11-40 years)
o Third Paryaya (41-70 years)
o Fourth Paryaya (rarely seen)

5. Rahu & Ketu's Paryayas:

 Rahu and Ketu each have four Paryayas of 18 years.

 Their transits over natal Rahu/Ketu positions can indicate challenges or philosophical
leanings.
 Formula: Remaining degrees * 18/30 determines the length of the first Paryaya.

6. Importance of Karakatwas:

 Karakatwas are significations of planets. Understanding them is crucial for

interpreting transits.
 Some examples of Karakatwas:
o Venus: Wife (male), house, property, vehicles, wealth
o Saturn: Profession
o Jupiter: Life force (Jeeva)
o Mercury: Education, business, intelligence
o Mars: Body, machinery, technical education (with Mercury), force, husband
(female)
o Sun: Father, son, authority
o Moon: Mother, travel, mind

7. Key Transit Events:

 When transit Jupiter aspects (links) natal Jupiter in specific houses (1, 5, 9, 2, 12, 7),
significant events can occur.
o Houses 3 and 11 are sometimes included as opposite sign links.
 Combining transit Jupiter with Paryaya analysis helps confirm events.
 Similar principles apply to Saturn and Rahu/Ketu transits, impacting profession and
potential challenges respectively.

8. Conclusion:

 Paryaya cycles and transit movements of planets offer valuable insights into life
stages, potential events, and overall well-being.
 Combining this knowledge with Karakatwas (planetary significations) allows for a
more comprehensive interpretation of a birth chart in Nadi Astrology.
