GRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS ADMISSION POLICY


SPRING SEMESTER - 2024
(SEMESTER SYSTEM)

1) GENERAL CRITERIA

1.1 University of Gujrat (UOG) Online Admissions for all Graduate Degree Programs (Annexure-I) shall be
processed against the advertisement in print and electronic media under Semester System.
1.2 The applicants of the Graduate Programs shall have to pass the Departmental Subject Based Written Test
(DSBWT). The schedule of the DSBWT is given in the Admission Calendar (Annexure-II).
1.3 The desirous candidates (Male / Female / Transgender) having sixteen (16) years of relevant degree may
apply for relevant Graduate degree (MS/MPhil/MSc) program; whereas, eighteen (18) years of relevant degree
shall be required to apply for relevant PhD degree program.
1.4 The applicant shall create an account on the UOG admission portal using his / her own Computerized National
Identification Card (CNIC) Number.
1.5 Only Online complete application(s) along with uploaded following compulsory documents shall be
processed:
a) Bank transaction receipt for admission application processing charges (Rs 500/=).
b) Candidate’s passport size photograph (with blue background and up to 300 x 350 pixels; JPG file).
c) Matriculation or equivalent Certificate duly verified by the Board concerned.
d) Terminal degree and transcript duly attested by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad.
e) In case of any discrepancy, fake documentation or concealment of facts, the application shall not be
processed OR admission shall be cancelled at any stage of the degree.
f) NOC to apply for Graduate Degree Program (For in service applicants only).
1.6 The submitted application(s) shall be acknowledged through text message and email on the applicant’s given
cell number and email address respectively.
1.7 The candidates may also check the submitted application(s) acceptance status after three working days of the
submission through his / her created UOG admission account.
1.8 Department wise lists of applicants shall be displayed on UOG admission portal (https://uog.edu.pk) after the
closing date of the admissions. The referred lists shall be generated as per received applications. This SHALL
NOT BE CONSIDERED AS MERIT LIST.
1.9 The missing applicants (if any) may contact department concerned through email at least two days prior to the
display of the first merit list; otherwise, no claim shall be accepted after the notification / display of the first
Merit List.
1.10 The Admission Calendar for Spring-2024 is given in Annexure-II.
1.11 Semester dues shall be refunded (if requested) within stipulated time as per UOG policy / rules which are
available at UOG admission portal (https:/uog.edu.pk).
1.12 In case of any query or guidance the candidates may contact the Departmental Admission Committee through

1.13 The candidates shall appear in the Departmental Subject Based Written Test (DSBWT) along with original
CNIC, NOC to apply (for in-service applicants only) and copy of the terminal degree on notified schedule
and venue (Annexure-II).
1.14 The MERIT LISTS of selected candidates shall be displayed on the UOG admission portal
(https://uog.edu.pk) and respective departmental notice board as per admission calendar (Annexure-II).
1.15 The selected candidates shall appear in the office of the respective Head of the Department after notification
of the Merit List(s) within stipulated time for getting admission letter and admission dues / fee bank challan
along with all credentials (in original); CNIC, two passport size fresh photographs with blue background, 02
years (for MPhil) or 03 years (for PhD) study leave notification issued by his / her Competent Authority,
academic credentials (Matriculation; Intermediate; Diploma; Degree(s) etc.) and two sets of the attested
copies of all above mentioned documents well placed in an ordinary paper folder.

1.16 An applicant can file the admission grievance(s) (if any) along with all required documents in the office of the
respective Faculty Dean for redressal within two working days after the notification /display of the merit
list(s) through respective emails given below:

1.17 Unless mentioned, the admission dues / fee shall be deposited during the stipulated period in any branch of
The Bank of Punjab and a copy of same shall have to be deposited in the department concerned for semester
registration. The referred dues / fee shall not be deposited in any other bank.
1.18 In case the semester fee / dues are not deposited within stipulated time the admission offer shall stand
cancelled.
1.19 Subject to the availability, hostel facility shall be provided to the candidates having domicile other than
District Gujrat.
1.20 No transport facility shall be available for evening degree programs.
1.21 There is no upper age limit for Graduate Degree Programs.
1.22 If a degree program is not offered, the deposited semester dues shall be refunded as per UOG policy/rules.
1.23 The classes for all Graduate Degree Programs shall start from 1:30 p.m.
1.24 The details of the Graduate degree programs offered by University of Gujrat in Spring-2024, respective
eligibility criteria are given in the Annexure-I.

ANNEXURE-I

GRADUATE DEGREE (MS/MPhil/MSc) PROGRAMS OFFERED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF GUJRAT


IN SPRING – 2024

MINIMUM ADMISSION CRITERIA:

 At least Sixteen (16) Years of education or its equivalent qualifications in the relevant subject.
 At least 45% marks in the annual examination system or 2.5 / 04 CGPA or 65% marks in the semester
examination system is required in the terminal degree.
 In case CGPA or % obtained by the candidate is not mentioned on the transcript, the academic
qualification marks shall be calculated as per UOG conversion policy.
 However, if both CGPA and percentage of marks are mentioned on the transcript the preference shall be
given to the CGPA.

Additional Degree Specific Eligibility Criteria for MBA

 Non-Business related education candidates: 16 years of education in non-business related disciplines.


Candidates may complete MBA degree in minimum 2-year (4 semesters). The merit for admission for
such applicants shall be determined separately.
 Business education candidates (BBA, B. Com, BS Management, etc.): 16 years education in business-
related disciplines. Candidates may complete MBA degree in minimum 1.5 years (3 semesters) as per
NCRC recommendation. Such candidates may earn up-to (6 courses) 18 credit hours’ exemption. The
merit for admission for such applicants shall be determined separately.

MERIT DETERMINATION CRITERIA:

 Merit shall be calculated on the basis of marks obtained out of 100 as per following Criteria, however;
50% marks are mandatory in DSBWT to qualify it.

TOTAL MARKS FOR ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION = 30
Percentage Obtained in the Respective Degree Marks
45.0% to 69.99% (Annual System)

a) CGPA 2.50 to 3.49 / 4.00 (Semester System) 25

65.0% to 74.99% (Semester System where CGPA is not mentioned)
≥ 70.00% (Annual System)

b) ≥ 3.50 / 4.00 30

≥ 75.0% (Semester System where CGPA is not mentioned)

MINIMUM ADMISSION CRITERIA:

 At least eighteen years of education or its equivalent qualifications in the relevant subject.
 First division in annual system in MS / MPhil / Equivalent degree or minimum CGPA 3.00 (out
of 4.00) in the semester system OR 70% marks in the semester system examination where CGPA
is not mentioned in terminal Degree.
 06 CHs research in MS / MPhil programs.
 In case CGPA OR % obtained by the candidate is not mentioned on transcript, the academic
qualification marks shall be calculated as per UOG conversion policy.
 However, if both CGPA and percentage of marks are mentioned on the transcript the preference shall be
given to the CGPA.

MERIT DETERMINATION CRITERIA:

Merit shall be calculated on the basis of marks obtained out of 100 as per following criteria, however; 60% marks
are mandatory in DSBWT to qualify it.
