Materials needed:
1. Yarn Art Jeans, 55% cotton, 45% acryl, 50g/160m
(weight 2 Fine yarn, 1,76 oz/174 yds), next colors:

• yellow № 35
• Light yellow № 88
• green № 69
• white № 01
• nude № 05

2. Crochet hook 2.25 mm (US: B, UK:14)


3. Fiberfill, thick sewing needle, pins.
4. Piece of cardboard 2 on 2 inch for one gnome’s base.

If you follow this advice your gnome will be 16 cm/6 inch.

Yarn tip: cotton/acryl or cotton 100%

Abbreviations:
MR – magic ring
ch – chain stitch
st - stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
trc – treble crochet
dtr – double treble crochet
sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase, 2 sc in the next sc
dec – decrease, sc2tog, single crochet 2 stitches
together
(16) – number of stitches in a round
(inc, sc)*N – repeat N times
BLO – back loop only
FLO – front loop only

Body.

With light yellow yarn.


Start with making a round base. Work in continuous rounds
without slip stitches.

Rnd 1: 7 sc in the MR
Rnd 2: 7 inc (14)

Сut the base of cardboard.

Insert the cardboard base.

Stuff the body evenly and firmly with
the fiberfill.

Close the top using a needle, tie off

Begin to crochet petals in turning rows.
With white yarn in free loops of 9th round:
Rnd 1: Ch 1 and 1 sc in same loop, 5 sc in next 5 loops,
turn
Rnd 2-3: ch 1, 6 sc
Rnd 4: ch 1, dec, 2 sc, dec (4)
Rnd 5: ch 1, 2 dec (2)
Rnd 6: ch 1, dec (1)
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail.

Begin to crochet second petal in 7th free loop of 9th


round.
When all 6 petals will be crocheted, join white yarn and
crochet one row single crochet, insert hook in first and
last stitches of each rows of petal.
Pay attention to the edge, not to make it tighten. If the
edge is tighten you should add more sc.

Twig.
With green yarn.
Work in continuous rounds without slip stitches.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in the MR
Rnd 2-9: sc in each stitch around 8 rounds.
Rnd 10: 8 chains, start in the 2nd loop from the hook, 2
sl st, 5 sc, 1 sl st in next stitch of 14th round)*6
leaves
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail. Sew to the hat.

Arms
Start with the white yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in the MR
Rnd 2: (inc, 2 sc)*2 (8)
Rnd 3: 8 sc
Rnd 4: 3 sc, 3dcCL, 4 sc (8)
(3dcCL - a cluster of 3 dc)

Rnd 5: 8 sc
Join light yellow yarn:
Rnd 6: BLO 8 sc
Rnd 7-11: sc in each stitch around 5 rounds.

Stuff the bottom part of the arm (hand) with fiberfill.
Don’t stuff the top part of the arm so they don't stick
out.

With nude yarn.

With yellow yarn.

Rnd 2: BLO 10 inc, sl st (20)
Join white yarn (cut off yellow yarn):
Rnd 3: 2 dc in next stitch, (1 trc, 1 dtr, 1 trc)in next
stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, 1 sl st in next stitch.
It is a first petal. Repeat else 4 times. Cut off the
yarn.

Join yellow yarn to the free loops of first round.


Rnd 1-3: 10 sc
Rnd 4: (ch 2, 1 sc in next stitch)*10
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail.

Twig.
With green yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in the MR
Rnd 2-9: sc in each stitch around 8
rounds.
Rnd 10: (inc, 1 sc)*3 (9)
Rnd 11: 9 sc
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail. Sew to
the flower.

Assembly and decoration.
Sew the arms and beard to the free loops of 19th round of
body.
Sew the nose in the center of the beard as shown on the
photo.

Put on the hat. The top of nose should be placed under the
hat.
Attach the hat to the body with simple stitches in 2 - 3
places.
