DIAGRAM WITH
EXPLANATION
1 Central Processing Unit:
It performs basic arithmetic, logic, controlling, and input/output operations specified by the
instructions in the program and interprets instructions. This is where the Cu and ALU are also
1
located.
2 Control Unit:
2 It directs operations within a computer's processor/processing unit. It lets the computer's logic unit,
6 memory, and both input and output devices know how to respond to instructions received from a
program.
3
3 Output Unit:
It is any hardware device used to send data from a computer to another device or user.
5
4 Memory unit:
This unit can store instructions, data, and intermediate results. This unit supplies information to othe
units of the computer when needed

5 Arithmetic and logic unit:

An arithmetic unit, or ALU, enables computers to perform mathematical operations on binary
4 numbers. They can be found at the heart of every digital computer and are one of the most
important parts of a CPU (Central Processing Unit).
