EUCLID WHO?
Euclid was a well-known ancient Greek
mathematician. He was born around 300 BCE in
Alexandria, Egypt. While details about his early, family,
and personal life are scarce, Euclid’s impact on the history
of mathematics is plentiful. Living most if not all of his life
in Alexandria. living there, he was surrounded by a mix of
Greek, Egyptian and other cultural influences.Euclid is
believed to have received his education in Athens, the core
of ancient Greek learning. Euclid’s life unfolded during a
time when accomplished intellects like Plato & Aristotle
had just laid the foundations for intellectual pursuits.

Euclid’s most significant


accomplishment, “Elements” is a
composition of 13 seperate books
covering a range of mathematical topics
, and presenting them in a neat, well
organized, logical way. Through
“Elements” Euclid introduced the
world to a systematic way of
mathematics based of axioms and
postulates, or givens. “Elements”
became the most influential
mathematical text for over two
thousand years, and continues to be one
