Chapter 1, Introduction
This project will automate the daily operations of hospital. The project keeps track of
the staff and patient details. It also takes care of the ward, medical, invoice and the
doctor's appointment details.
Hospital management system is an integrated hospital information system, which
address all the major function areas of multi-specialty hospitals. The hospital
management enables better patient care, patient safety, patient confidentiality,
efficiency, reduced, costs to critical, information thus enabling the management to take
better decisions on time.

Problem Statement
 Lack of immediate retrievals:- The information is very difficult to retrieve and to find
particular information.
 Lack of immediate information storage:- The information generated by various
transactions takes time and efforts to be stored at right place.
 Lack of prompt updating:- various changes to information like patient are difficult to
make as paper work is involve.
 Error prone manual calculation:- manual calculations are error prone and take a lot of
time this may result in incorrect information.
 Preparation of accurate and prompt reports:- This becomes a difficult task as
information is difficult to collect from various registers.

Objective
 To computerized all details regarding patient details and hospital details.
 To automate the process of ward entries.
 To maintain records effectively.
 To manage current status of staff and doctor availability.
 The project has information regarding the inpatient details, outpatient details Billing
details and ambulance details.

Scope and limitation

Scope-

 Online appointment system for patients


 Inpatient and outpatient report
 Manage doctor account and patient account
 Create prescription for patient
 Order medicines through online
 This program will be a perfect way to manage the hospital system.
 This application contains login form, patient registration, doctor registration.
 Hospital management application allow patient to edit their information.
 It can be used in any hospital, clinic, pathology labs for maintaining patient details and
their test results.

Limitations

 This is only one administration account to manage the whole system


 User like phone and computers only can acess this
 Risk of data theft if provided on unauthorized acess
 Huge flow of traffic may cause problems

Chapter- 2 Literature review


A review of empirical studies in the area of hospital administration arranged chronologically.
Hospital described as a formal organization. Hospital explained as a psycho social system.

For this project, we researched and review some of the related websites and applications. We
get to find out there are some websites or application related to database management.

Chapter- 4 Methodology
We are going to use waterfall methodology while building this websites. These projects have
specific documentation, fixed requirement in order to build this system , waterfall model can
be used.

System analysis
It is a process of collecting and interpreting facts, identifying the problems and decomposition
of a system to its components of the system work efficiently to accomplish their purpose.

It is conducted for the purpose of a system or its parts in order to identify its objectives. It is a
problem solving technique that improves the system and ensure that all their components to
the system work efficiently to accomplish their purpose.

Chapter 4- conclusion
Since we are entering details of the patients electronically in the "hospital management
system", data will be secured. Using this application we can retrieve patient history with a
single click. Thus processing information will be faster. It guarantees accurate maintenance of
patient details. It easily reduce he book keeping task and thus reduces the human effort and
increases accuracy speed.
