Activity: Document Creation Class 6

Activity Handout of Document Creation


1. Open the document “Activity.doc” from My Document Folder.
2. Save your document as Activity <<your name>>.doc.
3. Center align the main heading, it should be bolded and italicized.
4. Apply the “Shadow” and “All Caps” text effect on the main heading of the document.
5. Change the character spacing of the heading “Natural Disasters” by 3 pts and it should be
expanded.
6. Change the direction of the table’s first row text from “vertical to horizontal”.
7. Reduce the height of first row of the table after changing the direction of text.
8. Apply your desired style to the table.
9. Insert the relevant picture (picture matching with disaster description) after each disaster’s
description. The pictures are available on your computer’s desktop.
10. Apply your desired “Text Wrapping” effect on all pictures. Make sure that pictures are not
overlapping each other.
11. Apply your desired “Position” to all pictures within their respective description area.
12. Change the colour of any two pictures.
13. Rotate at least two pictures.
14. Apply an artistic effect on one picture.
15. Apply any picture style on at least two pictures.
16. Apply border to at least two pictures.
17. Insert your desired page border on the entire document.
18. Insert your name, class and section in the header of the document.
19. Insert the current date and time in the footer of the document.
20. Insert the following hyperlink “https://www.ready.gov/kids/disaster-facts” on the “Reference
Site” text typed at the bottom of the document.
21. Find the word “wildlife” and replace it with “wildfire”.
22. Ensure to use “Spelling and Grammar” tool to correct all spelling and grammatical mistakes.
23. You now have to use “Mail Merge” feature to take the printout of this report for multiple people
whose address and other information is available in a separate file.

24. Use the “source.doc” file and insert the first 3 fields of the source file on the top line of the
report. The alignment of the merge fields should be left.
25. Each merge field should appear in a separate line and should be bolded.
26. Ensure that the document fits in two pages after inserting the “mail merge” fields. If it is going
to 3 pages then make necessary adjustments to fit into 2 pages.
27. Now complete the document merging process to create the same document with the
information of 3 people for printing purpose.
28. Take the printout of the first 2 pages of document from the printer. Save your newly created
merged document as Merge<<your name>>.doc.
29. Take the printout of the document.
