SPECIAL TOOL NOTIFICATION


JDG10031—TIER III 9.0L ENGINE TOOL KIT
Use to service the new John Deere Tier III 9.0L engine.
This is an ASSET essential tool kit that will be automatically shipped
to dealers who take delivery of their first piece of equipment that has the Tier III 9.0L engine.

This ASSET tool kit includes the following tools:

JDG1948 Piston Cooling Orifice Assembly Tool


Use to orient and assemble the piston spray jet to the
cylinder block.

JDG1949 Wiring Harness Nut Socket


Use to grasp the injector wiring harness connector to
remove it from the harness and to apply specified torque
when installing the connector.

JDG1952 Rear Crank Seal Insertion Tool


Use to align and install the rear crank seal to the
crankshaft rear flange.

JDG1953 Rear Crank Seal Housing Centering Tool


Use to center the rear crankshaft seal housing so the
seal and the housing are concentric.

JDG1954 Rear Crank Seal Installer


Use to align the rear crankshaft seal housing with the
pan rail of the cylinder block.

JDG1962 Cam Follower Insertion Tool


Use to seat the roller cam followers in the cylinder block
bore.

JDG1963 Piston Ring Compressor


Use to compress piston rings to allow the piston and
connecting rod assembly into the cylinder block bore.

JDG2046 Starter Wrench


Allows access to starter mounting hardware closest to
the cylinder block.

JDG10015 Fuel Pump Gear Puller


Use to remove the fuel pump drive gear.

JDG10023 Front Crankshaft Oil Seal Installer Screw


A metric forcing screw required for this engine.

JDG10025 Fuel Pump Screw Remover


Use to reach into the pump recess to remove and install
the pump mounting screw.

JDG10040 Lifting Strap


Front lift strap for OEM and John Deere applications
(except tractors and sprayers).

JDG10057 Valve Seat Driver


Use to seat the service valve seat in the cylinder head.

JDG10059 Lifting Strap


Rear lift strap for OEM and John Deere applications
(except tractors and sprayers).
