Preface
1 Preface
This section contains general information about this document, the means of its design and use, as well
as how to get additional technical support for the product.
1.1 Scope
This guide gives a general overview of the SecurOS WebConnect application, describes the process of
installing and configuring the SecurOS WebConnect's application server, talks about the operator
interface.
The guide is intended for the SecurOS system administrators and users who have basic skills in
working with web browsers and are familiar with the SecurOS user interface.
To get online help (Microsoft HTML Help) just press the F1 key when running SecurOS. In
administration mode You can get context help for a given object/utility by pressing the F1 key when its
settings window/utility window is open. In operator mode, use the F1 key to open a description of the
active window of the current operator interface or utility.
If you have any questions after reading this manual, please address them to your system administrator
or supervisor.
For any further information you can contact the Intelligent Security Systems Technical Support Team:
Note. For all technical support requests, please open a ticket from the ISS Partner Portal:
https://support.issivs.com. You will need to create an account if you don’t already have one.

SecurOS WebConnect 7 Quick Start Guide
General Description
2 General Description
SecurOS WebConnect is a web-client for the SecurOS VMS that allows security personnel to monitor
video and to control cameras on a variety of platforms using standard web browsers. Operators can
access live video streams, playback video archives, and display multiple cameras based on user-defined
Views. SecurOS Maps can be used to navigate through cameras including the ability to display all
cameras from a specific map level. Video analytics events and other types of alarms are displayed in the
Alarms View.
Note. SecurOS WebConnect plays video from cameras that use any codec. This feature is provided by
transcoding on the Video Server side. Transcoding uses capacity of the Video Server when it is necessary. If the
system has a large number of Cameras using the H.265 codec, video from them can be played without
transcoding in the Microsoft Edge browser (see Providing H.265 Support for Microsoft Edge). This can
reduce the workload on the Video Server if it is necessary to free its capacity for other tasks.
Note. It is possible to work with Long-term archive only if SecurOS server is Windows-based.

3 Getting Started
This section describes SecurOS WebConnect setting up, starting and user interface:
· SecurOS WebConnect Server Setup.
· Configuring User Rights.
· Providing H.265 Support for Microsoft Edge.
· Starting SecurOS WebConnect.
· SecurOS WebConnect Main Screen.
SecurOS WebConnect server can be started at any SecurOS Video Server. User Accounts with required
User Rights must be created in the system to work with SecurOS WebConnect (see Configuring User
Rights).
3. In the object settings window (see Figure 2) configure the Protocol and the Port to connect SecurOS
WebConnect web server.
www.issivs.com

Getting Started
4. To reduce number of Cameras event messages sent to the web server select previously created Event
Filter object in the Event Filter field.
5. To allow operator to save archive records locally select the Archive converter object from the Archive
converter list. Its settings will be used for archive export.
6. If it is necessary to work with Long-term archive using SecurOS WebConnect application, select the
Access to Long-term archive checkbox.
Note. It is possible to work with Long-term archive only if SecurOS server is Windows-based.
If you prefer to connect SecurOS server over secure HTTPS, select the HTTPS protocol and add the
certificate with a private key. SecurOS WebConnect supports certificates in .crt and .pem formats. To
add a certificate click the Select certificate button and use file manager to browse to the certificate file
location (see Figure 3).

7. To finish configuring click OK button. The web server will start on the selected port in a couple of
minutes.
Configuring User Rights for the Camera object allows to define the list of cameras and camera control
actions available for the operator.
www.issivs.com
SecurOS WebConnect 11 Quick Start Guide
Getting Started
Configuring User Rights for the Archive converter object that is selected in the WebConnect object settings
controls the ability to export video archive using SecurOS WebConnect.
Note. Archive export is available for user with control or higher access level to the Camera object.
H.265 video playback is only supported by Microsoft Edge browser with a special extension. This
extension is paid software and is tied to a Microsoft account. Therefore:
· If the same Microsoft account is used for multiple Operator Workstations, this extension can be
purchased only once;
· If different Microsoft accounts are used for multiple Operator Workstations, this extension must be
purchased for each account separately;
· In any case, the extension must be installed on each Operator Workstation.
Warning! The extension can be downloaded and installed only for the Microsoft account from the purchase
was made from or the gift code was redeemed for.
H.265 video playback in SecurOS WebConnect will be available as soon as Microsoft Edge is restarted.

Getting Started
2. Navigate to the server by entering the SecurOS WebConnect server IP Address:port in the
browser’s Address field.
3. In the connection window, in the Site field (see Figure 4) specify an arbitrary name for the site that
will be monitored. This can be useful for simultaneously working with multiple SecurOS servers
with different sets of surveillance cameras. The Site field can be empty.
4. Login with your SecurOS User Account credentials (see Figure 4). It is also possible to authorize with
the credentials of an OS user registered in an Active Directory domain if the Active Directory / LDAP
object is created and configured in SecurOS (see SecurOS Administration Guide).
Notes:
1. The site name and the User name are displayed on the upper left panel of the main window in the
following format: Site name > User name (see SecurOS WebConnect Main Screen).
2. If the Site name is not specified, only User name will be displayed on the panel.
To monitor different sites simultaneously, connect to the WebConnect servers hosted on the other
SecurOS Video Servers. To start SecurOS WebConnect, use the credentials of User Accounts created on
these Video Servers.
