MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Brig Abhay A Bhat (Retd)
M Tech, MPM, B Tech, FIETE

Army Institute of Technology is elated that its student placements have

catapulted it in the league of top engineering institutes in the country. The India
Today Ranking report in its special edition of Jul 22, has placed AIT in 8th in
placements all India, based on 2021 batch average CTC of Rs 9,45 Lakh PA. In
2022, these figures have touched the stratosphere, with an average CTC of Rs
14.7 Lakh. Surely the 2023 issue of India Today will see AIT in top 3 amongst
private institutes, rubbing shoulders with BITS, Ranchi, NITs and even a few IITs.
Over 20 students are getting CTCs over Rs 30 Lakh and Devesh Joshi has bagged
a package of Rs 1.12 Crore from Amazon to work at Dublin.
These achievements are outcome of meticulously evolved student
focused strategies. These include the tradition of extremely fiercely contested
“Akruti” inter-branch competitions, under three main themes of Technical,
Cultural and Sports. The competitions are so designed that almost all the
students get to participate and get exposed to challenges. In addition, AIT
encourages and guides students to participate in such competitions and
hackathons at all India level.
The peer and experiential learning environment in AIT too is unique.
AIT has over 20 clubs which not only provide special high tech skills, life skills
and expression to students' hobbies, but also provide insightful lessons in
leadership and organisational skills.
Academic year 2021-22 had unique challenges. First half was a
continuity of lockdowns of the second and third wave of pandemics. Later part
of the academic year (post Feb 22) saw the reset to physical mode of learning.
Such transition after two years is not easy. Both students and teachers had to
recover the lost days of interactive and experiential learning. Given the
resilience, creativity and never say die attitude of our students, they adapted
effortlessly.
Our industry partners continued to provide strong support, guidance
and collaboration in these challenging times. One of the biggest achievement of
AIT in 2021-22 has been award of a cyber-security related R&D project and by
National Security Council Secretariat with funding of Rs 7.4 Crores over three
phases. This collaboration with the private R&D lab “Forty-Two” labs is a great
example of trust based industry-academia collaboration. In the 75th year of
Independence, and push for Make in India, we are looking forward to more such
collaborations which brings in a win-win situation for all stake holders.
“Jai Hind”
“ONWARD to GLORY”

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dr. B. P. Patil
BE, ME, PhD(Electronics Technology)

Dear Corporate,
Last two and half years of pandemic were full of challenges for mankind. We
never thought that the same period will open new windows of opportunities,
skill sets and profiles in the job market. Because of Work from Home, Learn from
Home and Pay from Home, technology took an evolutionary turn into Digital &
Cloud. With India ‘Pole Vaulting’ into prominance due to its unique innovation in
digital banking, small transaction of a vegetable vendor to billion dollar deals of
corporates now ride on our own UIDAI platform, which is not only digital but also
swift, secure and sustainable.
What it means for Academia? It means that areas like online teaching-learning
approach, start-up cells, project based learning, research and innovation need
revamping. AIT adapted to these new paradigms very effectively. As a result of
which, 2021 & 2022 passing out batches grabbed huge opportunities.
All departments of AIT are actively involved in the enhancement of technical
skill sets of the students through national conferences, paper presentations and
hands-on workshops. AIT also has effective measures to develop the teaching
faculty through sabbaticals, motivation for higher education, rewards and
recognitions.
As per our mission, we are committed to the development of physical,
intellectual, emotional and spiritual quotients of the personality of the
students.
Onward to Glory!!

MESSAGE FROM THE TRAINING & PLACEMENT OFFICER
Prof. Manoj Khaladkar
M.E. Electronics

Dear Corporate,
We are extremely overwhelmed with your great support to the recently
conducted 2022 batch campus placements. AIT has broken all previous record
and set a very high standard. We can take a look at these amazing figures –
Placement percentage 97%, Average Salary Rs 14.70 LPA, Median Salary Rs 12.00
LPA, Highest Salary Rs 1.12 Crore.
These splendid figures is the outcome of systematic training measures, culture
of competitive coding, active presence on universal skill building portals,
guidance from placement cell & alumni, effective communication measures
and an excellent support by industry in terms of career awareness, technology
related sessions, sponsored competitions & events. We extend our sincere
thanks to all of you for this companionship.
Every goal achieved by an organization gives more responsibility on our
shoulders for the upcoming 2023 batch placements. Our aim is to reach all types
of industries from IT Product, Services, Fintech banks, Consulting, E commerce,
Engineering, Telecom & EdTech. Already 158 (i.e half of the batch) students are
doing summer internships in reputed industries. Moreover, we are confident to
have at least 50 to 60 pre-placement offers.
Lastly, we urge all of you to suggest appropriate value add courses, training
topics on new technologies, & emerging job profiles. During the recent NAAC/
NBA visit, one of the areas of improvement pointed out was lack of close
industry collaboration, especially in building labs/ CoE. You are requested to
ponder on this issue and help us improve on this parameter.
If every industry starts thinking Engineering students as their future employee &
extendssupport on campus, our dream of flourished industry & Institute
intention will come into reality.
