1. Data Download
1.1 Backup Data from System
If the HLD‐VDR60 system still can run, and the final medium status display on the
Operation Unit is normal, investigator can download the data from the system via the
playback software.
HLD‐VDR600 Playback is standard application software delivered together with the
equipment. The package which located behind the door of the Main Unit contains:
‐ CD containing the playback software
‐ Introduction of the playback operation
‐ 3m length of LAN cable
‐ 1m length of customized LAN cable
Prior to installation of the playback application, ensure that the computer for playback
meets the minimum requirements.
The playback software can be installed only if the plug‐ins software is finished.

Computer requirement:
RAM: minimum 2.00GB
Hard disk: minimum 64G
Processor: Intel Core 2 or higher
OS: Windows 7/2000/XP, and .net framework 4.0 is available
After connection with the VDR, set up the IP address in network configuration on
computer as follows:
IP Address: 172.16.8.175
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
After installation of the playback software, click on the “VDR600” file on the desk as
shown in figure9.
Open and Download menu are located on the top left corner of the page.

Download Procedure:
1. Enter the start and end date and time of the record to be download in the
window.
2. Select the destination directory which the data is to be stored.
Use the customized LAN cable to connect the Long‐Tern Data Recording Unit and the
computer (shown in Figure 13), and supply DC24V to the Unit. About 1 minute later,
can run the playback software to download the data, just follow the steps list in section
1.1, and don’t forget to select the data source “LRU”.

Use the customized LAN cable to connect the Junction Box of the Protective Data
Recording Capsule and the computer (shown in Figure 14), and supply DC24V to the
Unit. About 1 minute later, can run the playback software to download the data, just
follow the steps list in section 1.1, and don’t forget to select the data source “PDC”.

Unit. About 1 minute later, can run the playback software to download the data, just

2.2.1 Main Interface
Main Interface page displays the following standard information:

requirements.

status message is displayed in its raw format in accordance to IMO requirements.
Note: Inside the mnt file, the messy code which is included in the data file for serial
data as can be ignored, which should not be shown
on the playback window.
2.2.4 Radar
Radar page displays the recorded radar image during the period of playback. Radar
image from 4 different radars can be selected for playback. Only 1 radar image from
the selected radar sensor is displayed at a time. The operator can select the radar by

ECDIS playback page displays the captured ECDIS image and information during the
period of playback. Select the ECDIS equipment to display its image by clicking on
ECDIS1 or ECDIS2. Only 1 ECDIS image is displayed at a time.
