CXC SBA GUIDELINES

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Please Read Carefully

The layout and presentation of your SBA is very important. The overall presentation is worth 4 marks.
The following MUST be adhered to, and completed before your final copy is sent for the final
moderation.

1. From your acknowledgement to recommendation should be double spaced (HOME—LINE AND

PARAGRAPH SPACING—2.0).
2. With the exception of headings, font size MUST be 12. It is advisable to use Times New Roman
or Arial (not Arial Black or other fonts that sometimes make it difficult to read). Use only ONE
font.
3. Cover page and Headings can be any font size and style.
4. Pages MUST be numbered. To number pages, go to: INSERT—PAGE NUMBER—BOTTOM OF
PAGE.
5. Contents page MUST have CORRECT page numbers.
6. Each task MUST be on a separate page.
7. It is recommended to use a simple border (DESIGN—BORDERS AND SHADING—PAGE BORDER—
BOX)
8. Research must be written in the past tense. When writing the SBA, do not use the first-person
discourse, for example: ‘I’ or ‘me’ instead use terms such as ‘the researcher’, ‘the writer’, or ‘the
investigator’.
9. For task 6, diagrams must be well labelled and must be bordered. DO NOT USE two of the same
type of graphs. It is recommended to use: 1 table, 1 pie chart, 1 bar/column graph.
10. It is suggested, not mandatory, to insert a HEADER on each page with a shortened version of the
topic in all Caps. For example: “DRUG ABUSE: CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES AND SOLUTIONS”. This
will help to eliminate plagiarism.
Your cover page MUST have ALLL of the following information as shown below and the layout MUST be
