BRIEF HISTORY OF HWEDIEM CENTRAL BUILDING

The church of Pentecost, Hwediem Assembly started worshipping at Hwediem Methodist School in
the early 70's.

LAND ACQUISATION

In 1984,Elder Felix Kyei(now Retired) and his Presbytery acquired a parsle of land from Hwediem
Traditional Council during the reign of the Late Paramount Chief Nana Osuodumgya Barima Kwame
Bonsu.

It is worth mentioning that a National Service Personnel, a voltarian sent to Hwediem Secondary
School donated Ten Cedis(10cedis) to the Church after his Service. His timely donation contributed
largely to the acquisition of the plots we have the mission house and this edifice yet to be dedicated
by our dear Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye.

In 1997,Hwediem District was carved out of Kenyasi District of the Church Of Pentecost, hence
Overseer Michael Kwadwo Addae(now a retired Pastor) was sent to oversee the work of the district.

By dint of hardwork by the District Minister, Overseer Michael Kwadwo Addae and his
Presbytery, temporary structure was constructed to accommodate number of members which was
on ascendancy.

Though the first structure could not stand a great storm, second temporary structure was
constructed. Due to it’d form, People used to call it “Corn Mill Room”.

God in His infinite wisdom has turned the corn mill room to this magnificent building.

SOD CUTTING

In February 2003, Pastor Emmanuel Kwaku Ofosu, the then Area Head of Goaso Area of the Church
Of Pentecost assisted by Pastor Michael Kwadwo Addae cut the Sod for commencement of the
building of Hwediem Central Chapel.

Apostle Chairman, it is worth mentioning that, Pastor Michael Kwadwo Addae and his successive
Pastors contributed immensely towards the development of this edifice which space would not
allow to expatriate.

FOUNDATION STONE
Prophet P.B. Appiah-Adu, the then Area Head of Goaso, The Church Of Pentecost, assisted by
Pastor Benjamin Naa Nobi, the then Hwediem District Minister laid the Foundation Stone of this
building on Sunday 29th November,2009 to the glory of God.

FINISHING WORK

Pastor Eric Kwabena Mensah Gyabare and his executives bought the visionary plan of the Area
Executive headed by our dear Area Head ,Pastor Daniel Frimpong Manso to put in all necessary
effort to complete this building and dedicate to the glory of God.

Apostle Chairman of the Church Of Pentecost, truly speaking ,the District Minister, Pastor Eric
Kwabena Mensah Gyabare and his wife Mrs. Sarah Mensah have demonstrated great commitment
towards the finishing works of this magnificent building. Team work by the District Minister, His
Executives, District Presbytery and the entire membership of the District more importantly the
Central Assembly needs much to be desired.
