Introduction
Hypertherm Phoenix software uses passwords to enable functionality, to perform diagnostics, and to access
secure screens. These passwords are often used to restrict access to editable parameters. Using certain
passwords incorrectly could impact proper cutting machine operation.
CAUTION!
7235 – Diagnostics: I/O, Drives and Motors, and Machine Interface. Enables machine functionality for testing.
This password expires when you exit the machine test screen. To perform additional tests you must re-enter
the password.
Wizards
The CutPro and Align Wizards can be turned off by selecting the “do not show again” check box in the first
wizard screen. These passwords allow the operator to turn on the wizards without opening the Special Setups
screen.
Phoenix updates
Hypertherm periodically releases Phoenix software updates. These updates include new features as well as
bug fixes. Because all updates include bug fixes, we recommend that you update the Phoenix software
whenever a new version becomes available. If you are not sure, please contact your table manufacturer to
verify the applicability of a given release. Visit the Phoenix Software Updates page at www.hypertherm.com to
download the latest version of Phoenix software.
These passwords are in effect only while the update takes place.
UPDATESOFTWARE – Phoenix 10.19 and earlier allows updating software without opening the Special
Setups screen.
UPDATEHELP – Phoenix 10.19 and earlier allows updating help without opening the Special Setups screen.
UPDATEMANUALS – Allows updating of manuals without opening the Special Setups screen.
The update functions listed above can also be done with soft keys on the Special Setups screen.
Setup screens, editable
These passwords open the setup screens so that you can edit machine parameters and CNC parameters, and
assign tools to stations. Each password stays in effect until the next power cycle. You can change these
passwords on the Special Setups screen.
ENABLENETANALYZER – Use this password to toggle output 1 whenever a fieldbus error 62-2 (Missed
update) occurs. This output can be used to stop the Hilscher netANALYZER when trying to collect frames on
the fieldbus in ring-buffer mode. This functionality eliminates the need for technicians to continuously monitor a
network for an error.
ENABLEHASP – Changes the settings in the HASP with an encrypted password provided by Hypertherm.
RESETSETUPS – Resets all values in Phoenix.ini to the factory settings that are stored in Phoenix.
CLEARIO – Deletes all I/O assignments and resets all I/O to Spare.
RESETUSB, RESETFP – Resets USB I/O and front panel I/O on the CNC to factory settings.
CLEARUSB, CLEARFP – Clears all assigned USB I/O and front panel I/O.
TOGGLEINPUT1 – Enables and disables the use of soft key 5, View Sheet/View Part, to toggle Input 1. Use
this password for testing and simulation of any I/O point that you assign and wire to Input 1. You can also use
TI1as a shortcut for TOGGLEINPUT1.
EDGE® Connect
7MOREDAYS - This password enables all features on the CNC for 7 days, except for ProNest CNC with True
Shape nesting, Connect PLC Advanced, and the True Hole Conversion tool.
CONFIGUREMESSAGING – Opens the Messaging Port Configuration dialog where you can view and edit
the destination IP address and port settings for your printer, marker, or other EoE (Ethernet over EtherCAT)
device. If you edit these settings, select OK to save the changes.
For details, refer to the EoE (Ethernet over EtherCAT) Command Messaging Application Note (810940).
CONFIGUREMESSAGING/DEFAULTS – If you edited the settings on the Messaging Port Configuration
dialog, use this password to view the factory settings for the IP address and ports. To use the factory settings,
select OK.
Production Manager
These passwords help you to set up the Production Manager web app directly on the EDGE Connect CNC.
For more information about Production Manager, refer to the knowledge base article.
PRONESTSERVER=http://host:port – Use this password to point the EDGE Connect CNC to the ProNest Server.
Replace host and port in the password with the values for the ProNest Server. The default port used by ProNest
Server is 1480.
For example: If ProNest Server is hosted on a computer called MyServer and the port it uses is 1480, enter this
password: PRONESTSERVER=http://MyServer:1480
PRONESTSERVER – Use this password to view the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the ProNest Server that is
connected to the CNC.
PRONESTSERVER= – Use this password to clear the connection between the EDGE Connect CNC and ProNest
Server.
EDGE® Pro Ti
DEFAULTTISETUPS – Resets all values in Phoenix.ini to factory settings stored in Phoenix for the EDGE Pro
Ti including motor tuning parameters such as the gains and encoder counts.
RESETTIIO – Resets I/O to factory settings for the EDGE Pro Ti. This password also names the spare I/O that
are hard-coded for the EDGE Pro Ti.
RESETERRORLOG – Starts or resets logging of the following error in the Phoenix.log file.
RESETPOSITIONLOG – Starts or resets commanded position and actual position logging in the Phoenix.log
file. Use CLOSELOG to stop position logging.
ENABLEKEYLOG – Starts key logging. Phoenix creates a file named Keydate.log in the root folder of the
hard drive. Phoenix keeps only 5 days of key logs.
NO4070SERIAL, NOHPRSERIAL – Simulates HD4070/HPR serial communications so that you can test
and operate Phoenix without being connected to the HPR plasma system.
ENABLEPMXLOG – Starts Powermax logging of errors, communications, and status. Phoenix creates
Pmx.log in the Phoenix folder.
ENABLEPMXSERIAL – Changes the Powermax serial mode to Full which allows the CNC to set cut mode,
current, and gas pressure, and to read and report information about the Powermax in the Diagnostics screen.
Full mode disables the Powermax front panel controls.
DISABLEPMXSERIAL – Changes the Powermax serial mode to Monitor. The CNC only reads and reports
information about the Powermax in the Diagnostics screen. Monitor mode enables the Powermax front panel
controls.
NOPMXSERIAL – Simulates serial communications so that you can test and operate Phoenix without being
connected to the Powermax 65, 85, 105, or 125 plasma system.
DISABLEAUTOFOE – Prevents Phoenix from automatically checking for XPR firmware updates upon
launching.
ENABLEAUTOFOE – Allows Phoenix to automatically check for XPR firmware updates upon launching. If
updates are available, Phoenix prompts the operator to automatically apply updates.
CHECKFOEUPDATE – Allows the operator to check for and apply firmware updates to all XPRs on the
EtherCAT network.
FOEUPDATE – Allows OEMs and Hypertherm technicians to manually update firmware over EtherCAT to do
either of the following advanced troubleshooting tasks:
Install an older version of firmware
Update firmware on a single XPR component
The manual update method allows you to install incompatible firmware files which may
prevent the XPR from operating.
HyPrecision® waterjet
NOWATERJETSERIAL – Simulates waterjet serial communications. Allows Phoenix to continue running
without having the waterjet connected.
ArcGlide®
ENABLEARCGLIDE – Enables ArcGlide and Hypernet on the Machine Setups screen. Use this password
when setting up an ArcGlide on a CNC where the setup file does not have an entry for ArcGlide. The ArcGlide
setting is saved in the Phoenix.ini file.
Fineline™ plasma
FLSERIAL – Simulates FineLine serial communications so that you can test and operate Phoenix without
being connected to the FineLine plasma system.
NRT – After enabling Rotate and Tilt axes in the Machine Setups screen, NRT reroutes the axis signals to
allow use of Transverse 2 axis on a 6-axis cutting machine. After entering NRT, Phoenix outputs the Transverse
2 axis on physical axis 4 or 5.
1RT – Enables the Rotate and Tilt axes but not Dual Rotate and Dual Tilt axes.
SERCOS® communications
These SERCOS passwords stay in effect until the next power cycle, except for 1SAF which is saved in
Phoenix.ini.
NSA – Used for diagnostics, NSA phases up the SERCOS ring without the axes so that only the I/O phases
up. If the ring doesn’t phase up then the problem is in the SERCOS I/O.
1SA through 12SA – Phases up the SERCOS ring with a number of axes selected. For example, 2SA phases
up axes 1 and 2.
1SAF – Phases up the SERCOS ring with only axis 1 forced on permanently. This password is saved to the
Phoenix.ini file.
