celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

A recent survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS) found that money are the

top Valentine’s Day giftwish of Filipinos.

Some 16 percent of the survey respondents said they would want to recieve moneys,

followed by love and companionship with eleven percent and flowers with 10 percent.

Other tops gift wishes this Feb. 14 include apparrel (nine percent), any gift “from the

heart” (five percent), phones mobile (five percent), watch or jewelry (five percent) and

good familey relationship (five percent).

Following these wishes are food and itims grosery (three percent), chocolates

(three percent), health of lovey ones (three percent), motor cycle or other vehicles

(two percent) and appliancess (two percent)

ANILA, Philippines — For many Filipinos, being practical seems to be the best
way to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

A recent survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS) found that


money is the top Valentine’s Day gift wish of Filipinos.

Some 16 percent of the survey respondents said they would want to receive
money, followed by love and companionship with 11 percent and flowers with
10 percent.

Other top gift wishes this Feb. 14 include apparel (nine percent), any gift “from
the heart” (five percent), mobile phones (five percent), watch or jewelry (five
percent) and good family relationship (five percent).

Following these wishes are food and grocery items (three percent), chocolates
(three percent), health of loved ones (three percent), motorcycle or other
vehicles (two percent) and appliances (two percent).

Obtaining one percent or less were greetings, kiss, child, date or dinner,
house, cake, stuffed toys, wedding, alcoholic drinks and perfume or
cosmetics.

Based on the survey, conducted from Dec. 8 to 11 last year, apparel was the
top gift wish among men respondents (14 percent, compared to five percent
among women), while it was money for women (19 percent, compared to 12
percent among men).

Thirteen percent of women respondents prefer flowers, compared to seven


percent among men, while love and companionship was selected by 11
percent of women and 10 percent of men respondents.

According to SWS, 58 percent of the survey respondents said they were “very
happy” with their love life, while 23 percent said “it could be happier.”

Some 19 percent said they have no love life. The pollster noted that the
number of Filipinos with no love life gradually increased over the years, with
the earliest available data at 10 percent in 2002.

Batay sa survey na isinagawa ng Social Weather Stations (SWS) noong


Disyembre 2023, nais ng mga Pinoy na makatanggap ng mga praktikal at
romantikong regalo para sa Araw ng mga Puso.

Pangunahin na ang pera, na nakakuha ng 16%, kasunod ang love at


companionship na parehong nakakuha ng 11%, at bulaklak na mayroon
namang 10%.

Ang iba pang Valentine’s Day wishes ng mga Pinoy ay apparel (9%), “any gift
from the heart” (5%), mobile phone (5%), relo at alahas (5%), good family
relationship (5%), food at grocery items (3%), chocolate (3%), good health
para sa mga mahal sa buhay (3%), motorsiklo at iba pang sasakyan (2%), at
appliances (2%).

Ang iba pang regalo na hindi masyadong napili ng mga lumahok sa survey ay
ang written o in-person greeting, halik, anak, date o dinner, bahay, cake,
stuffed toy, kasal, alcoholic drink, pabango at cosmetics.

Karamihan umano sa nais makatanggap ng pera at mga bulaklak ay mga


babae habang apparel at iba pang regalo ang karaniwan namang pinili ng
mga lalaki.

“Both sexes wished for love and companionship equally,” anang SWS.

Samantala, lumitaw rin sa survey na 58% ng mga Pinoy ang nagsabing


napakasaya nila sa kanilang love life, at malaking bilang nito ay mga mag-
asawa, habang 23% ang maaaring mas sumaya pa ito at 19% ang nagsabing
wala silang love life sa kasalukuyan.

Napuna naman ng SWS na unti-unting lumalaki ang bilang ng mga Pinoy na


nagsasabing wala silang love life.
