Bic seem to have a strong association with disposable biros that are cheap and cheerful but not very
durable. The quality of this set was a little better than I initially expected based on that brand expectation,
but not excessively so- this is still an everyday set, nothing special, that you won’t feel particularly attached
to or won’t be amazed by. But they certainly do the job.
The felt tip colours are nice and bright, and they’re easy to use. Even as a grown-up they’re quite satisfying
and allow for frustration-free sketching.
The pencils are just a touch on the lightweight side and the results are not as bold as some pencils I’ve
seen, but they’re still fine for a bout of energetic colouring-in. They sharpen reasonably well- but not
brilliantly. The colour range is OK but I’d suggest it does seem just a little bit off, with a slight shortage of
nice blues, and maybe too many purple/lilacs and too many browns? But of course that depends a lot on
what you’ll mostly be colouring in…
Nothing special, but an important staple of the stationery you need for your kids. A reliably OK choice.
