Connecting PediaVision S09 Vision Screener to EyeSpy 20/20 laptop computer

There are four components that must be connected in order to use the EyeSpy 20/20
software system with the PediaVision S09. EyeSpy 20/20 provides full data
management, sophisticated bi-lingual reporting, and a simplified user interface while
eliminating the need to connect an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, and printer
directly to the S09. The diagram below shows the components and how they are
connected, followed by photographs of the actual components and connections.

NOTES:

The PlusOptiX Camera consists of two pieces (base and handheld device) that are
permanently connected with an integrated communication cable.

The laptop computer has 2 available USB ports. If you wish to use the EyeSpy 20/20
video game while connected to the PlusOptiX Camera, please connect the mouse
extension cable in the available USB port on the laptop computer. A USB splitter may
be used if you wish to also connect a printer (to the same port as the mouse).

It is recommended that these cables are stored connected.

The following steps are to be followed precisely when powering up the system.

1. Make all connections described above except do not connect the camera to the
router with the network cable.
2. Power up the laptop computer.
3. Power up the PlusOptiX camera.
4. Power up the PC 2 TV box. Power button is located directly above the green “power”
LED indicator.
5. Double-click the PlusOptiX icon on the desktop screen of the laptop.
6. Select File - Capture AVI from the menu of the vdub application.
7. After the PlusOptiX camera is completely booted (e.g. - the vision screening
application screen is visible), connect the camera to the router with the network cable.
8. Double-click the Verify P Drive icon on the desktop screen of the laptop.
9. Double-click the P Drive icon in the new window that appears.
10. When the blank window appears, close it by clicking on the red “x” in the upper right
corner of the window.
11. Double-click the EyeSpy icon on the desktop screen of the laptop.
12. When you get to the main screen of EyeSpy, verify that the PlusOptiX option is
present. If it is not, quit EyeSpy, verify network connections, and restart EyeSpy.

NOTE: Do NOT attempt screening with PlusOptiX without using EyeSpy to initiate the
screening. If an error appears on the PlusOptiX screen, disconnect the camera from
the router and reboot the camera. Once completely rebooted, reconnect camera to the
router.
