KEY IDEAS

MODERN CLASSROOMS
ARE DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE,
Requiring differentiated instruction and
assessment for effective learning.

Two key approaches are:

Differentiation: Tailoring goals, materials, and
assessments to individual student needs within the
existing curriculum.
Universal Design: Creating materials and instruction
inherently accessible to everyone, minimizing the
need for adaptations.
Teachers Accommodations Both

2. Modifications: Lowered
standards, require
specific assessment.

WHY IS CURRICULUM
ADAPTATION NECESSARY?
Imagine a magical boat called
“Learning”

We're all sailing together to

different destinations.

Some love math islands, others seek reading

treasures, and some are excited about sciences.

The school map might be too general, like a

treasure map missing cool places.

Curriculum adaptation is adjusting the map for each of us to find and enjoy our unique
treasures.
WHY IS CURRICULUM ADAPTATION
NECESSARY?
In short, adapting the curriculum
makes our learning journey exciting
and unique, allowing us to explore
what makes us happy and curious.
Fun, right?

If you love music, a special route is

added for you. If your friend loves
dinosaurs, a special stop is included
for him.
